Note from Mr Higginbottom

Hello! Just a few updates and highlights of our week for you - please enjoy!

We are holding a Harvest Assembly on Thursday 19th October where we will be joined by Father Barley. Once again, we are collecting for the foodbank at Swinton Lock. If you are in a position to, please consider donating. Here's some suggestions for items that can be donated

A heads up that we will be welcoming parents to a 'topic exhibition' on the afternoon of Friday 17th November - open to parents of children throughout school. More details to follow .

The tickets for our Halloween Disco are still on sale from reception for £3 each. All funds raised go to our new PTA. We've had a few people ask about costumes - they are very welcome but children are free to dress however they feel comfortable.

Attendance this week:

A round up of the week's events
Ellie from Rotherham Council visited children from EYFS this week to help them learn about road safety.
We dressed brightly to celebrate World Mental Health Day on Tuesday 10th October.
Year 5 and 6 children visited Eden Camp this week to learn more about WW2. It was a really fun and interactive experience!
Online Safety

This week's information about Online Safety provides information about Supporting Children to deal with upsetting content. Don't forget you can talk to us if you're worried about your child's time online.

If you'd like more information from National Online Safety, try their app which is available to download.

Attendance Expectations
Uniform Expectations

Please support your children by ensuring they are following the required uniform expectations, including on PE days. Children should be dressed in a yellow or black polo shirt and black trousers, skirt, shorts or plain black leggings. Yellow gingham dresses may also be worn. Black cardigans or hoodies can be worn with or without the school logo. For PE, children need their white school PE top or plain white T-shirt and black shorts or tracksuit bottoms. No football shirts please. Please may we remind you to label your child's uniform with their name.

Dates for your Diary
Have a lovely weekend!

Thank you for your continued support of our school and for supporting your child by ensuring they're at school on time and they read at least 4 times each week. If you would like to discuss any aspect of your child's time in school you can email enquiries@sqp.wwpat.org, find me on ClassDojo or chat to me at the start or end of the school day.

At Swinton Queen Primary School, children are aspirational, courageous and inquisitive; respectful of all.
