This week in Year 4, we have been embracing the winter season through poetry! The children have been busy creating their own free verse winter poems, exploring how to make their writing more exciting. We focused on using poetic features such as personification, onomatopoeia and alliteration to bring their ideas to life!
Our new topic in Science this week has been about Sound. On Monday, we explored how sound is made and discovered that all sounds begin with vibrations.
On Wednesday the children carried out an experiment to investigate how sound travels through solids. The children made careful observations and discussed their findings, including which solid was the best/worst for sound to travel through.
We also put the finishing touches on our DT torches from last week. Using our scientific understanding of circuits, the children were excited to see their torches light up for the first time.
Well done Year 4 for another fantastic week!
