Christmas Performances 🎄

We are looking forward to seeing you all in the next two weeks for the Christmas performances and carols. Please see above for a reminder of the dates. The Friends of Parkside PTA will be serving refreshments before the events, so please bring some cash if you would like something. Thank you for your support.

Pantomime trip and discos

Just a reminder to any parents who haven't done so already, please let us know if your child would like to go on the pantomime trip by consenting on ParentPay. If you could do so as soon as possible that would be much appreciated.

Also, we would be grateful if you could please pay for the Christmas discos on ParentPay if your child would like to attend.

Thank you for your help - we appreciate it is a really busy time of year for families!

Christmas Fayre - Thank you!

Thank you to everyone who attended the Christmas Fayre last week. We would like to say a big thank you to the Friends of Parkside PTA for putting on such a lovely event for families to enjoy.

Thank you again - you've really made a difference!

We would just like to say another big thank you to everyone who voted for us with their blue tokens in Tesco. The puddlesuits that we were able to purchase from that grant are really helping the children in Reception and improving their learning experience.

Spotlight on Attendance 🔦

Please see below for the attendance figures for the last two weeks. The overall school attendance is down again which is disappointing. Remember, every day in school makes a difference to your child's learning. There is lots to look forward to in the last two weeks of term - make sure your child is in school to enjoy it all!

Please can we remind everyone to think carefully about avoidable absences such as holidays. Please look at the guidance on the links below if you are unsure if your child is well enough to come to school.

Here are some reminder of how to support your child:

  • Do not take holidays in term time (see here for Penalty Notice information)
  • Make appointments outside of school hours
  • Use the "When is to ill to ill" guidance when considering keeping your child off school (click here to view)
  • Arrive on time each day. School gates open at 8.40 with registers closing at 8.55am
  • Reach out to school Via Mrs Daine or Mrs Greenley for support around school attendance including Emotional Based School Avoidance
Absence from school not only equates to lost learning but also missing out on other benefits to a child's wellbeing and wider development.

Safeguarding and Wellbeing support

If you have any Safeguarding concerns outside of school hours, or are concerned a child has suffered or is likely to suffer significant harm and is at immediate risk call the Children’s Safeguarding Hub on (01482) 395500 or ring 999 (asking for the Police).

Job Vacancy

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed individual who enjoys working as a team in a busy school kitchen.  Please click the button below for more details and to apply online:

Improving the Arbor Parent App

We are pleased to say that we have been contacted by Arbor to say that they are looking at improving the Parent App, which is great news as we know it could be so much better for parents! We have sent our feedback from the school side but they also want to hear from parents, so please do make your views known by completing the survey below.

Arbor is committed to improving the experience of the Arbor Parent App, and want to hear from you as part of their research. Please take five minutes to complete this short survey. Your input will directly impact what Arbor builds next, thank you for taking part.

White Ribbon Event

Online safety support for neurodivergent children

Online scams like trust trades and fake giveaways can cause harm and upset to all children, but neurodivergent children are at greater risk of falling victim to scams. There’s a guide for parents, a video for children and young people, plus stories for families to read and discuss together to explore the risks, with practical actions for children to take to help stay protected. Find all the resources here.

Dance Show

Several Parkside pupils will be taking part in this dance show. This performance is a wonderful opportunity for the children to showcase their hard work, confidence, and creativity on stage. The dance school would be delighted if members of the Parkside community—staff, families, and friends—could attend and celebrate their achievements. Show Details:
