Lower Visitacion Paving Completed Ahead of Schedule

Thank you to the community for your cooperation these past few days while traffic from Visitacion was routed to San Bruno Ave. and other side streets. Contractor G. Bortolotto & Co. got started Monday morning grinding away asphalt and covering portions of the crosswalks beforehand to protect the bricks.

Monday midday.
The magnitude of the work on Monday drew some onlookers (some from their second-story window). Greg Morris, Public Works Inspector, kept an even closer eye on the work.
Weather conditions were extremely favorable for the crew to work quickly, which included full-depth asphalt repair of any potholed areas.
Paving getting underway Tuesday morning.
Just after 3 PM Tuesday afternoon.

Today, crews returned to raise valves and manholes. On Friday, parking spaces on Vis will be marked for the contractor to stripe on Monday, 4/1, and be completed on or before Thursday, 4/4.

Your Feedback Needed by San Mateo County Transportation Authority

If you travel between San Mateo County and our neighboring counties, the San Mateo County Transportation Authority (TA) would like your feedback! The San Mateo County TA is developing the Regional Transit Connections Plan which will provide guidance for a new grant program.

Please help them learn more about how you travel between San Mateo County and Alameda, San Francisco and Santa Clara Counties. This feedback will be used to help the TA prioritize which transit projects to fund.

The survey open until the end of April and is also available in Spanish and Chinese.

Commission/Committee Member Spotlight: Anna Dennis

You may have heard that right now, the City is recruiting for members to serve on its Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Accountability (IDEA) Committee, Open Space and Ecology Committee (OSEC), as well as a Trustee representing the City of Brisbane to govern the San Mateo County Mosquito and Vector Control District (SMCMVCD). The last time we had a recruitment for open seats on City Commissions and Committees (CoCo for short - why not!), we featured various members, asking them a few questions. See Anna's below:

In addition to the Interview and Resume Support Workshop they led in February at Mission Blue, Parks and Rec Commissioner Julie Sims and Rec Supervisor Nicole Houghton led a similar session earlier this month on behalf of Brisbane's Youth Advisory Committee at the YAC Attack Conference.

If you're interested in learning more about serving your community in this type of role, please view the webpage, brisbaneca.org/open-seats. Note: Brisbane residents, as well as those who work but don't live in town, are welcome to apply for the IDEA Committee. The deadline to apply for these important advisory body positions is Tuesday, April 30th at 5 PM. The City Council is scheduled to hold interviews of prospective applicants in May.
