First Free Class was a Success!
On Tuesday, November 26, we held our very first free fencing class at Staten Island Fencing Club, and it was an absolute blast! We had 22 people attend, with about half of them being SIFC members who brought along friends to try out the sport. Over the course of an hour and a half, participants had a great time learning the fundamentals of fencing, including basic footwork, proper stances, and introductory blade techniques. There was a great energy in the room as everyone got to experience the thrill of fencing firsthand, from learning how to lunge to practicing defensive moves. It was exciting to see so many people, both new and familiar faces, enjoy the sport and leave with a smile, and we can't wait to host more events like this in the future!
Our next free classes will take place on Saturday, December 14 from 2:30-4:00 PM and Saturday, January 11 from 2:30-4:00 PM. You can send this link to your friends and family to register and give fencing a try.
