YEAR 6 RESIDENTIAL

The Year 6 children had a fantastic time at Kingswood Dearne Valley. They got to try a variety of exciting activities and everyone did a excellent job of pushing themselves, supporting each other and rising to new challenges. A big thank you to all of the staff who enabled the children to have this wonderful experience and make lasting memories.

YEAR 1 HANDWASHING

Year 1 were visited by the nursing team who spoke with them about the importance of good handwashing.

HARVEST FESTIVAL

We will be celebrating the harvest festival in school on Thursday next week. As part of the event we are organising a collection for the Two Rivers Community Pantry. We would welcome donations of dried and tinned food items (e.g. pasta, cereals, tinned vegetables) if you would like to bring them into school before Thursday 12th October. YEAR 6 TRIP

Year 6 had a fantastic visit to the Hull Jame Masjid last week. They learnt all about the Muslim faith and the five pillars of Islam.

SCHOOL COUNCIL ELECTIONS

The school saw democracy in action as pupils took to the polls to vote for their School Council representatives. The votes have been counted and the new council members have been announced this week. Their first duty will be to plan the activities for the upcoming Children in Need day. Look out for the photo of the new team in the next newsletter.

NURSERY WALK

The nursery children enjoyed a walk in the sunshine to the wilderness area for their daily story time. They had lots of fun listening to the story and looking out for the wildlife.

TIME TO APPLY

It is now time for parents of children born between 1 September 2019 and 31 August 2020 to make applications for Reception in September 2024. School Attendance is ‘everyone’s business’.

What an absence means for your child?

At primary school level, where pupils missing up to 14 days of school in key stage two are a quarter less likely to achieve level five or above in reading, writing or maths tests than those with no absence.

If you have any concerns regarding attendance please do not hesitate to contact Miss Curley, our Safeguarding and Attendance officer here at Parkside Primary School.
