Message from the Leadership Team

Dear Noadswood Families,

As we approach the end of another academic year, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on some of the highlights of this week and then provide some key dates for you.

Sports Day – A Huge Success!

We were thrilled to see such enthusiastic participation and team spirit during this year's Sports Day. A massive thank you goes out to our PE team, whose hard work and dedication made the event run smoothly and provided an enjoyable day for everyone involved. The energy, support, and professional behaviours were brilliant to see, and we are so proud of all our students for getting involved.

It was lovely to welcome back Noadswood alumni, Annie Richardson, who walked the Opening Ceremony with all our proud House Mascots and participants, and helped us with the presentation of the shields. I was also joined in that lovely task by regular visitor to Noadswood, former colleague, Tony Walton, whose relationship with our school goes back decades. He was thrilled to see all our students at work again, and our thanks to our friends at Carpathia Care Home for making his visits possible for us all.

Summer Concert – phenomenal talent

I know that Mr Watkins and I would like to congratulate our very talented singers and musicians for all they did to make the music at our concert on Tuesday evening so very special. Many of you either melted my heart or made it soar, or both.

A small group from my choir and I go out to the Lantern Community in Ringwood today, supported by Mrs Wyse and Mrs Simmons This is a community where adults with learning disabilities live full time supported by brilliant staff. They have their own bakery, shop and café on site that everyone pulls together to make lovely. They even have their own weaver room and they can sell items they make that they’re proud of in the shop. Students will be given a tour around the site before we all sing and given refreshments afterwards. I am thankful for opportunities for Noadswood young people to show the best of themselves across the wider New Forest community, so I look forward to a lovely afternoon.

Key Dates:

Thursday 17th July – There will be a Red Box hand-out from 2.50pm in the small dining hall. Red Box is a government-funded scheme that provides schools with feminine hygiene products: our aim is to provide our students with enough products to see them through the holidays.

End of Term Plans – Tuesday 22nd July 2025

We would like to remind families of the schedule for the day:

• House Time: 8:45 – 9:00

• Period 1: 9:00 – 9:50

• Period 2: 9:50 – 10:40

• Break: 10:40 – 11:00

• Tutor Rooms: 11:00 – 11:10

Year Group Assemblies:

• Year 7: 11:10 – 11:30

• Year 8: 11:30 – 11:50

• Year 9: 11:50 – 12:10

• Year 10: 12:10 – 12:30

Please be aware that some assemblies may run slightly over as we take extra time to celebrate the fantastic achievements of our students this year. A bell will ring to signal the end of the school day. If your child needs to remain on site beyond 12.30 pm please email Mrs Rollett directly- erollett@noadswood.hants.sch.uk - and we can help.

Important Dates for the Start of the New School Year:

• Wednesday 3rd September 2025 – INSET Day (School is closed to students)

• Thursday 4th September 2025 – Year 7 only return to school.

Year 7 must wear their Noadswood uniform. As with moving up days, they should be in our school hall by 8.40 am. Our staff will be at the gates ready to greet your child/ren and bring them to the hall.

For the day to run smoothly, your child/ren will need:

• A packed lunch (we are a nut free school). If your child is in receipt of free school meals, we will provide lunch.

• A snack.

• A water bottle (This can be re-filled at lunch and break).

• Their pencil case and PE kit.

• On this day, they will spend time with their tutor groups, experience lessons and get set up on our school systems to allow them to purchase lunch from Wednesday 4th onwards. Their school day will finish at the normal time of 2:50pm.

• Friday 5th September 2025 – Whole school returns, with an extended House Time to catch up, hand out planners, and distribute timetables. Normal lessons will commence from Period 2.

We know that an extended break – much needed as it is - prompts mixed feelings for families because of the financial pressures it brings. Please remember we have Skool Kit and supermarket vouchers available to help support families. These are not means tested and are for any families who may benefit from them, please just reach out to your child's Year Leaders.

We will write to you next week in our end of term newsletter celebrating all of the achievements of the term.

As ever, if you need us, please get in touch – you can write to info@noadswood.hants.sch.uk and we can direct your mail to the right people, or you can use Class Charts or any of the contact details you can find here: Contact Us

With all our best,

Kathryn Marshall and the Noadswood Leadership Team

Awesome Alumni

George O'Brien was a Noadswood Student from 2011-2016

I am a Fine Food Marketeer: Noadswood really was the backbone of how I have become the person I am today, with support from Mr Rowling encouraging me to join the school rugby team back in year 8, which I then went on to captain, and then captain our local team at Fawley, to Miss McNab really lighting my passion for Digital Design. Not to mention Mrs Stratford, the woman who mentored me for 5 years and helped me just be me!
