Seren yr Wythnos

Year 1 and 2 Family Service

Well done to Year 1 and 2 for a fantastic family service today. They shared their work and knowledge about how plastic can be dangerous.

Thank you to all the families and friends for joining us, your kind donations of cakes to sell and your generosity buying raffle tickets.

Junior Visit to Blists Hill

The Junior children had a great time stepping back in time to the Victorian era on Wednesday at Blists Hill Victorian Town despite the wet weather!

Keeping Safe

Our school vision 'God will guide to be Kind, Safe, Valued and Our Best'. This week, we received visits from the Fire Service and Police. They were telling children how to stay safe in the local community.

July Date Changes

I apologise for the short notice, the staff training day advertised for Monday 8th July will now take place on Friday 5th July. As a result, Minera School will be closed to pupils on Friday 5th July.

As you are probably aware a General Election will take place on Thursday 4th July. The school will be used a Polling Station. We are trying to plan an off-site activity/visit for the children for this day to avoid a further school closure. I will confirm arrangements after half-term.

Unfortunately, this date was planned as our Sports Day. Our Sports Day will now take place Wednesday 3rd July.

  • Wednesday 3rd July - Sports Day
  • Thursday 4th July - General Election *Arrangements to be confirmed after half term*
  • Friday 5th July - School Closed for Staff Training Day
  • Monday 8th July - School Open

Dragon Bags

Our box has been emptied but we are still collecting. Please ask at school if you would like a collection bag.

Used Batteries

Our first collection has been taken. Please continue to keep your used batteries and send them into school. There is a box by Mrs Armstrong's office.

Easyfundraising

This is our main source of income at the moment so please keep using easyfundraising for all your online purchases. Remember that there are over 8,000 retailers participating in the scheme and recently Morrison's, Asda, Sainsbury's, Tesco and Iceland have joined so if you have your online groceries delivered or you use click and collect please use easyfundraising. Finally, remember to use it if you're booking a holiday or hotel.
