Sea Turtle Family Press IMportant things for Sanderlin families to know!

Previous Week Recap from Mrs. Cormier

This was an incredible week of celebrating students at James B. Sanderlin IB World School. We held the Winter Jam today for all students that made growth on their PM2 FAST Assessment and the students had a fantastic time. I am so proud of the tremendous amount of hard work these students put into growing their brains last semester.

I want to congratulate the following students:

Preston Eberhard won the District myOn reading challenge over Winter Break. Preston won a tablet from myOn for his incredible reading efforts.

Angelique Uy and Clark Lindhardt won the 2024 Student Surrealist Art Awards and were recognized at the Dali Museum with their artwork on Wednesday evening. This is such an incredible accomplishment!

Two Future Cities groups Aquatopia (Zoe Kane, Eliana Segundo, Isabella Johnson Miauri Drayton and Hana Bridge) and Chromotopia (Alzbeta Hayes, Tovah Johnston, Mira Woodruff, Quinn Bonano-Crawley, Tucker Dukes and Anabelle Forestal) went to the State Level competition on January 18th. Both groups did an excellent job and Chromotopia ended up placing in the top 4 presentations for the entire State. We are very proud of our Sea Turtles and their innovative floating city designs!

Important Reminders for this Week

We will be celebrating LITERACY WEEK - January 25 - 29 - See the flier below for details

Did you know that when your scholar is 20 minutes tardy for 5 days, they miss 100 minutes of instruction? You can have a big effect on your scholar’s attendance and academic progress by getting him or her to school on time, every day.

We are here to help! If you have any barriers to getting your scholar to school on time, please contact the front office so that we can provide you with the support you may need. Ask for the Data Management Technician, School Social Worker, School Counselor, or Child Study Team Administrator.

Current 6th and 7th grade Families - It is time for students to choose their electives for next school year. Please use the links below to complete student elective choices by 1/31. You will need to rank student's top choices for their Art Electives and their Design Electives. Core classes will be chosen for students based on test scores and students current academic pathways. If you have any questions or concerns, please email Mrs. Becker at beckerme@pcsb.org.
