Best bands from the 90s Blakely Copeland

Metallica, a thrash metal band, created many classic songs such as "Enter Sandman", "Ride the Lightening", "Fuel" and "One". Even though the band started making music in 1981, their biggest-selling album, Master of Puppets, was not released until 1991. Metallica's album, Metallica (also known as the black album) causes the band to be my all-time favorite thrash metal band.

Band members James Hetfield, Kirk Hammett, Lars Ulrich and Robert Trujilo all perform at concerts. Often, Metallica adds effects such as fire, lights and screens to enhance their show.

Nirvana, an alternative rock band, created songs such as "Something in the Way", "Smells Like Teen Spirit", "Lithium" and "Heart-Shaped Box". The band was established in 1987 but became popular in 1991 with their album Nevermind. My personal favorite song by Nirvana, "Something in the Way", causes nirvana to be high on my favorite bands list.

Through the years Nirvana's band members changed multiple times. For example after Kurt Cobain's death, Dave Ghrol became the lead singer.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers, an alternative rock band, created popular songs such as "Under the Bridge", "Can't Stop" and "Soul to Squeeze". The band began in 1982, however they gained popularity in the 90s with their first song to hit the top 10, "Under the Bridge". The Red Hot Chili Peppers creative music and lyrics cause them to continue to climb the list of best 90s bands.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers lead bassist, Flea is one of the few members of the original band still alive and playing music.

Radiohead, an alternative rock band, created iconic songs such as "Creep", "Exit Music (for a film)", "Paranoid Android" and "No Surprises". The band began in 1985 but gained popularity around the release of their 1991 album Pablo Honey. My favorite album, Ok Computer, caused Radiohead to be one of my most listened to bands in 2024.

Radiohead consists of lead singer Thom Yorke, guitarists Jonny Greenwood and Ed O'Brian, bass guitar Colin Greenwood and members Philip Selway and Clive Dreamer. Though the band no longer performs music, Radiohead fans still listen to and love their music.

Green Day, a punk rock band, created iconic songs such as "Brat", "Governator", "Fell for You" and "Disappearing Boy". They began in 1987 but got popular in 1994 with their release of the song "Dookie". The song "American Idiot", one of my favorite songs by Green Day, causes the band to make the best 90s music list.

Green Day bass guitarist Mike Dirnt, harmonica Billie Joe Armstrong and drummer Tré Cool continue to play music for Green Day.
