FROM THE Principal’s Desk

Dear Bluejay Family,

I extremely grateful to each of you who contributed to making this year's Bluejay Bash an unparalleled success! Your unwavering support and dedication have once again demonstrated the remarkable spirit of our community.

From our generous sponsors who made the event possible to the hardworking volunteers who ensured a seamless experience and our talented cook teams who kept us well-fed, the day was truly extraordinary. Despite the mud, the sense of camaraderie and joy was evident. It was truly an unforgettable event.

I want to extend a special thank you to the Wilderness Gun Club for providing a wonderful backdrop for our festivities. It is impossible to thank everyone for all they contributed without accidentally missing someone. However, I do want to give a few important shout-outs. Thank you to Misti Bryant and Erica Hinds, our event co-chairs, and their outstanding committee members, as well as Advancement Coordinator Sheree Prince, for their meticulous planning and execution. My heartfelt appreciation also goes out to our faculty and staff members and parents like you whose volunteerism truly made the day exceptional.

Let's not forget the unsung heroes captured in this photo, and all the others who toiled behind the scenes for event set-up and tear-down. Many of them put in time from the crack of dawn to nearly 6:00 pm to ensure that everything was packed up and returned to campus. Then continued to meticulously clean tables, chairs, and ice chests. Their efforts, often unseen, are vital to the success of our events.

I am thrilled to share that preliminary numbers for the day look amazing and will certainly bring us one step closer to realizing our goal of expanding our cafeteria. This achievement is a testament to the incredible generosity and spirit of our community.

Thank you all for your unwavering support and dedication. Together, we continue to make St. Cecilia School a place of warmth, generosity, and boundless opportunity.

With heartfelt appreciation,

Erin B. Henry

Principal

Nominations Needed

The St. Cecilia Advisory Council is a committee of individuals with diverse career backgrounds and experiences that serves to advise the Principal and Pastor in school matters of policy and planning. Elected members are SCS parents who serve terms of 3 years. They may serve no more than two consecutive terms.

We are incredibly grateful to Mr. Gerard Plauche and Mr. Chuck Soprano for their six years of service on the Advisory Council. Their knowledge and experience have proven invaluable in serving our school’s mission. We are currently accepting nominations to fill their two seats. As we enter into long-range planning, we do have particular needs in the areas of finance, construction, and project management. If you or someone you know is interested in serving, please prayerfully consider sending your nomination to ehenry@scsbluejays.org by Wednesday, March 13.

Sixth Grade Service Project

Our 6th grade service project begins March 11 and ends March 27. We are teaming up with the Kiwanis Club of Broussard Youngsville collecting stuffed animals for the Pediatric Burn Center at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. We are looking for each of our SCS families to donate one BRAND NEW stuffed animal (size 12”-18”) to help our 6th graders have a successful project! We will collect in the mornings before school. On behalf of the 6th grade class, thank you for your unwavering support! Any questions can be directed to mmcanally@scsbluejays.org.

Dear Bluejay Family,

We have newly crowned champions at St. Cecilia! The Christian School League is proud to declare our 5th grade girls’ basketball team as Champions of Division II. We are so proud of the girls and will soon present them their banner that will proudly represent their accomplishments. They will also be able to proudly wear their championship shirts soon! Special thanks to Coaches John Bergeron and David Forbes for their dedication to the girls this year!

What a week of baseball and softball for St. Cecilia! The week started off with a rainout, but we finished strong! Our 5th and 6th grade baseball teams notched their first wins of the year with impressive outings all around. They kept battling throughout and played with class. We are extremely proud. The 7th and 8th grade boys found the win column again as well. The 5/6th and 7/8th grade softball teams continued their dominance. We are entering the final week of the season. Please come out to support the boys and girls as they look to finish strong!

In an effort to improve our athletic programs at St. Cecilia, it was felt that a comprehensive athletic handbook was needed. This handbook affects players, coaches, parents, and fans. Parent/guardian completion of this form and adherence to the rules and regulations outlined in the handbook are requirements for participation in athletic programs at St. Cecilia School. The link below will take you to the handbook. It is also on the school website for reference as well. Thank you all for your continued support of SCS Athletics.

For those that have already completed the acknowledgement form, and want to refresh themselves on the rules and regulations, please follow the link below.

****We are so proud of our SCS 7/8th Grade football, 5th Grade White and 7th Grade volleyball teams' fantastic accomplishments this fall. We can now officially celebrate our championships in volleyball and football by purchasing apparel from Action Specialties. These are school approved and can be worn as part of the school uniform. There is a tab on the top horizontal bar for championship apparel. Thanks again for your support of SCS Athletics!
