My name is Eddie, and I’m a passionate photographer with a background in both event and studio photography. Over the years, I’ve captured a wide range of moments, from weddings and nightlife to music artists and brand campaigns, all driven by my desire to tell stories through imagery. While photography has always been my foundation, I made the decision to expand my creative lens by pursuing a degree in Visual Communications with a concentration in graphic design at SUNY Farmingdale. As part of that growth, I’ve also been exploring videography, which has allowed me to further develop my visual storytelling skills. Staying connected to my Latin heritage is central to who I am, and I’ve always known that my work, no matter the medium, has to uplift my community. Representation isn’t just a theme in my work; it’s a responsibility I carry with pride. That belief laid the groundwork for my senior project, Cultural Canvas: a platform that highlights and celebrates Latin creatives on Long Island. The centerpiece of this project is a photo book titled "Luz y Voz: Shedding Light on Latin Creatives and Their Voices", which showcases photos and stories of Latin artists, designers, musicians, chefs, and other creatives who are shaping our culture locally. Before deciding to return to school, I spent time traveling through much of Latin America, visiting countries across Central and South America as well as the Caribbean. Along the way, I met countless artists and musicians whose work was deeply tied to their cultural roots. Throughout my journey I documented these moments through photography which not only deepened my appreciation for my craft, but also opened my eyes to how powerful visual storytelling can be in celebrating identity and community. It was through those experiences that the vision for my senior project first took shape.
