Every day is a great day at Adams!
Bi-weekly Newsletter
Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week was terrific. We felt very appreciated! Thank you for the treats, lunches, supplies, and gifts.
You’re Invited! Mark your calendar for our Adams Family Picnic Lunch on May 28 from 11:45-12:30
We are inviting families to come and have a picnic lunch with your children. Simply bring a picnic lunch, grab a pizza, or even pick up fast food and join us. There is no need to check in at the office; just head to the playground at 11:45.
You are welcome to bring a blanket, lawn chairs, a pop-up umbrella, whatever makes you comfortable. Please set up a meeting spot with your child(ren) as all students will be released to the playground for lunch. We ask that you walk to school, if possible, due to limited parking.
We look forward to seeing you then. Please feel free to reach out to Mrs. Renfro with any questions that arise. If the weather decides not to cooperate, this event will be cancelled.
Bike Give-Away
Just for Kids Charitable Organization—Maier and Associates donated two bikes per grade level. Students participated in a good citizenship challenge, earning raffle tickets for a chance to win a new bike. Congratulations to all our winners!
Daughters of the American Revolution Award
Karen Grillo and Julie Visnaw, representatives of the Saginaw chapter of The Daughters of the American Revolution, presented Adams School volunteer Terri Dulude (retired Chestnut Hill 2nd grade teacher) with the Literacy Champion Award. This award recognizes the countless hours of volunteering she continues to do for Adams' School in first grade. The Daughters of the American Revolution is a nonprofit, non-political women’s service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and securing America’s future through better education. It consists of over 190,000 members in 3,000 chapters across the world. Congratulations and thank you for supporting our MPS first graders.
Save the Day - Adams Senior Grad Walk
Graduating Seniors who attended Adams Elementary—you are invited to a graduation walk at Adams. Wear your cap and gown and meet in front of Adams promptly at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 24th, to walk the halls in celebration of your accomplishment. A group picture will immediately follow.
Midland Public Schools Flyer Boards
Schools receive many requests to share flyers about summer camps, basketball camps, volleyball camps, and other community activities. Midland Public Schools maintains two flyer boards to share this information with families. Please follow the links below to access the flyer boards.
Lost and Found
Unclaimed items are donated at the end of each semester.
Students should check the lost and found periodically. We have accumulated many misplaced items such as jackets, water bottles, lunch boxes, and other personal belongings. Please label your child's belongings to help us quickly return them to their owners.

The 2024 Walk-a-thon on Friday, May 24:
Your generous donations are making a huge difference for our school community. With your support, we can continue funding essential programs like school field trips, fulfilling teacher wishlists, and so much more. Did you know? The PTO spends about $35/year per student to enrich their elementary experience. Your participation in the Walk-a-thon truly matters!
Reminder- The Upper and Lower El classes that raise the most will earn a pizza party during the last week of school! 🍕 Let's rally together, support our students, and make this Walk-a-thon the best one yet! Keep those donations coming, and let's see which classes win!

Reporting Absences Through ParentVUE
Parents/Guardians can report student(s) absent via ParentVUE. This feature appears as a blue button titled "Report Absences" on the app's main page or website.
- Parents/guardians can report absences for a single day or multiple days.
- Report each student individually. Do not enter additional students in the notes section.
- For each absence reported, parents/guardians must provide a detailed note explaining the reason. If you report your student as sick, please list the symptoms your student is experiencing. The note will help school attendance staff select the correct attendance code.
- If you have a legal or medical document, please upload it with the absence, or provide it to the school attendance staff upon your student's return. Parents/guardians can still call to report an absence at 989-923-6037.
