Schedule of Events 2025

Location

The Vista in Lewisville, TX is the conglomerate of shopping units formerly known as Music City Mall and Vista Ridge Mall.

2401 S Stemmons Fwy, Lewisville, TX 75067

Hotels

Really affordable hotels within two miles of the venue.

One of the reasons why we got the store at The Vista Shopping Center was access to the various event spaces. We saw an opportunity to bring a bit of the convention scene to the general public. Plus it would allow us to slow down the road grind of the busy convention circus.

The shop.

So now we have a permanent "dealer booth" at indoor venue with ample free parking. We're running events regularly now; some larger than others. So check back here for details about our next show. They'll always be free for attendees and always affordable for artists and vendors. We're not looking to be the biggest nerdy event in the area. Just a community of local artists and vendors looking to find and connect with their audience.

The Lore

If you scroll deep enough through ancient convention lore, you’ll read about the mysterious and timid yokai named Pinny and how it met its chaotic friend UwU.

Pinny Level 2

Pinny is a strange looking creature; covered with sharp pins and dripping with neon ink. Its large, all-seeing eye is always shifting around, always on the search. That’s because this strange little oddity is drawn to creative energies. Its single-eyed vision is fueled by the fire that burns deep in every creative person. It is said that during any art festival you can see Pinny emerge from the dark shadows to swim through the sea of inspiration. Its eye is wide open, taking in the beauty of artistic expression all around it. It looks deep into the art; finding beauty, looking for truth.

Pinny Level 3

However, despite its love for the arts, Pinny kept itself hidden from the world. Shrouded in shyness, its frightening appearance keeps it withdrawn, wary of disturbing the festivities with its hideous visage. While its form may evoke fear, Pinny's heart brims with a yearned to connect with the inspired world it admires.

Pinny Level 1

One day, as Pinny floated around an art market trying to catch a distanced glimpse of imagination, it was run over by the gelatinous blob known as UwU. They tumbled down the road as UwU shouted out high energy, enthusiastic apologies.

UwU Valentines

“OMG! I. Am. So. Sorry 🥺,” UwU said. “Are you okay? That was like totally mah bad.”

Pinny was stunned. No one has ever asked it how it was doing before. “Uh... yeah, I’m fine.”

UwU UwU’ed. “That is so good! Sorry, I legit did not see you there. I am just super excited about the art market. Oh em gee. Are you heading that way? We can go together!”

“What?” Pinny sputtered. “Uh, yeah. I mean, I’m not. Yes, I’m interested. But no I'm not going.”

“Why not? It is super fun.” UwU beamed at the mere thought of the art market. “There’s SO MUCH cool things to look at; I never have enough money to buy everything I want. But I always get a few things to make me happy. You should come!”

Pinny took one last look before turning away. “I can’t. I always scare people when they see me.”

“Oh, just cosplay something. No one will notice.”

Pinny didn’t know what to do. It never had a friend before. “I don’t know how.”

UwU smiled. “Don’t you worry, I gots this.”

Art by DMOCHII

That’s how Pinny and UwU became friends. So at any art festival, keep an eye out for Pinny's gentle gaze, cloaked by cosplay, appreciating the artistry that unites us all. Hidden in plain sight, this shy yokai is the bridge between the seen and unseen realms of imagination.

Preview of the space to give you an idea of what to expect. Remember, this is a MallCon. Plan accordingly.

Artist spots will vary depending on the scope/size of the event. Each spot may come with a table and chair depending on the mall event calendar. Artist setup starts at 9AM. Events run from 11AM-6PM-ish. Everyone packed up and out by 7PM when the mall door locks.

The Center Court

The Vista Shopping Center is going through a lot changes. First off, it was bought in October 2022 by a property developer who is looking to make changes. Currently the mall is home to a variety of small local businesses that range from a cat cafe, art galleries, a tool shop, jewelry stores, and a variety of clothing stores. Even the food court is full of family businesses. We’re all here just hustling away; a community of small business owners chasing the American Dream in the husks of capital America. There’s very a good chance the person behind the counter is the actual owner.

Chess tournament

On top of the small business aspect, the mall has a variety of event spaces available. They’re the host of an array of events, from chess tournaments to a HAM radio meetup. It is also the home to other nerdy events including Dallas Comic Show.

Attached to the mall is the Zion Market, a Korean grocery store with its own food court, a pool hall, and business market. It also is the home to the iCompete sports bar with augmented reality golf, batting cages, digitally scored darts, axe-throwing and immersive-tech billiards. Newly added Vibe Lounge hosts a ton of raves and events.
