My name is Gianna and I am the owner of Natural Bloom Photography. I have combined my passion for photography and fashion with my love of helping young people look and feel amazing, to create the perfect senior portrait experience.
A Natural Bloom portrait session is about more than just creating beautiful pictures. I want you to have fun, get pampered and walk away feeling beautiful, CONFIDENT and excited. The amazing images you will receive are just the icing on the cake!

What You Get
Booked Silver and Gold clients get a virtual pre-session consult to plan their session, chat about outfits and go over all the details.
Professional hair and makeup are available for every session and it is INCLUDED for Gold session clients.
Every session is ALL INCLUSIVE, includes digital images for you to download, and the option to purchase extras!!
Because digitals are included and you can download them, you get the freedom to print your images wherever, however and whenever you wish. I also offer HIGH QUALITY print purchasing through your gallery to make things super easy.
You get to pick your favorite images! I send over the proofs from our session and YOU pick your favorite images for me to edit and retouch. I will include a few of my favorites as well.
The Process

- Book a virtual consultation to go over outfits, locations, hair + makeup
- Attend your session + complete payment
- Receive your proof gallery (within 3 days) + pick your favorites (within 2 weeks)
- Receive your final digital gallery via email within 14 days.
- Order prints + download your images
I'm just as excited to see your images as you! I do try and keep the process moving quickly but keep in mind that I don't start editing until after you have selected your favorite images.
During peak season (March-June) editing is done on a first come-first served basis and I edit in the order received.
Year Long Photo Experience is currently open to Class of 2026.

Sessions for summer and fall of 2025 (Class of '26) are available on Sundays and Thursdays. PLEASE email me if you don't see a date that works. I do have available days that randomly pop up!

Mini sessions are only available a few times a year and are usually priced between $199 and $300 depending on the date and location. Please email me to find out when our next mini session dates will be available. Group mini sessions can be scheduled for 3 or more people on a date that works for everyone. This is a good option for a friend group.

90% of our clients choose a natural location as their top choice
Most of the locations in this guide are natural locations. NBP shoots all over North and South Carolina. From natural settings like fields, parks, lake and beaches, to urban settings, together we will pick a location that's perfect for you. Some clients choose just a natural or urban setting and some like a combo of both. Check out some of our city locations...

* Travel fees apply to locations over 25 miles from 28277. Some locations charge an entrance or rental fee which is the client's responsibility to cover (UNCC and Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens)
PRE-SESSION CONSULTATION
Silver and Gold packages include a complimentary pre-session VIRTUAL consultation. It is not required, but I highly recommend scheduling one. During this meeting we will talk about session locations, wardrobe, posing, hair and make-up ideas and I will answer any questions you have. It's a great opportunity to get to know each other prior to your session.
PROFESSIONAL MAKE-UP
Do you get your make-up done for prom? Then why not for your senior pictures? Of course, my make-up team keeps you looking completely natural and not overly "done up" like you would for prom. Getting pro-make-up evens out your skin tone and enhances your natural features so they are more easily captured in the camera. Pro-make-up is included in Gold sessions. Silver clients can book their own hair and makeup and I provide recommendations.

DURING YOUR SESSION
Your session will typically take place about 2 hrs before sunset or after sunrise. This is the ideal time for amazing light and the perfect glow of light. We may travel to multiple locations (within 10 minutes). You will have outfit changes as well. Most clients change their outfits in the car, but a changing tent is also available.
POSING
Don't worry, I got you!
I walk you through each pose so you don't have to worry about a thing. I love getting a mix of posed and candid shots during the session so expect to laugh, dance, move and have fun!
Flower Crowns or Fresh Flowers
I have partnered with a local florist to provide custom flower crowns or bouquets for your session. This is the perfect way to add a little something special to your gallery. Fresh flowers bouquets can also be picked up from Trader Joe's and are the essential prop for nature sessions.
AFTER YOUR SESSION
After your session I will select the best images to deliver in a proof gallery where YOU pick your favorites to be edited. You have an option to purchase extra images at that time. I hand edit and retouch your selections and add back to your private online gallery. You can download and order prints directly through your gallery.
WHAT TO WEAR
One of the most stressful parts of getting your picture taken is figuring out what to wear. During your pre-session consultation we can go over any outfits you are considering for your session. Clients also have access to the the NBP Style Closet!
The key to picking the perfect wardrobe for your session is to find what you feel great in! If you are uncomfortable or just not feeling it, it's going to show in your photos. Bring a few back-up items just in case, and don't forget the shoes and accessories! No matter your height anything with a heel is the best option for pictures!
Pick outfits that allow movement. Choose outfits that are very different from each other. Consider pieces that will allow you to sit and be posed in a variety of ways, sitting, standing, laying. A short dress, denim skirt, or romper, mostly give us standing poses. However, pants with pockets, maxi or flowy dresses, jeans and blouses, allow for a lot more variety. Practice sitting and standing poses in your outfits in front of a mirror before you make your final selection.
DRESS FOR YOUR LOCATION
Make sure the outfits you select match the location you have chosen. This might mean a flowy dress at the beach or natural setting. Or it could mean ripped jeans in a more urban location.
DRESS FOR YOU
Don't be afraid to BE EXTRA with at least one of your outfits, have fun with it and consider adding in YOUR personality. If you love 80's rock, consider wearing a vintage tee. If you are a country girl and love your cowboy boots, wear them! I do recommend one simple, classic outfit that will stand the test of time. Jeans or a little black dress are always good!
ACCESSORIZE
Adding a few key accessories can completely transform an outfit. Layering jewelry and clothing (think jacket or scarf) are great for adding texture and color, while the perfect necklace and earrings can polish and complete the look. Feel free to bring lots of options to your session so we can mix and match, and see what looks best.

SCHOOL SPIRIT
These are your senior photos, so while you want to feel like a supermodel for a day, you also want to commemorate your high school years. Including a favorite school t-shirt, sports jersey or letter jacket can add a touch of sentimental value to your images. In the spring many girls choose to wear the t-shirt that represents the college they will be attending.
BRING PROPS
This is also a great time to show off your hobbies! Bring along your sports gear, favorite book, musical instrument, car, or art supplies. I love incorporating the things you love into your session!
Cap + Gown
Bring a friend, family member, or even your pet!
Chances are you have a BFF that you can't imagine going through life without. My GOLD + PLATINUM packages allow you to share the fun! Have a friend, family member, or pet meet you at the end of your session for for some extra pictures to commemorate your special bond!
FAQ'S
Q. When will my session take place?
"Students may need to leave school early."
A. MOST sessions have a call time of 2 or 3 pm. Some can also be in the morning depending on the location. We need to add ample time for makeup, traveling, walking, and outfit changes. This means a 1-hour session can take almost 2-3 hours.
Q: Where will I get my make-up done?
A: My main makeup artist, Samantha, travels to your home and applies your make-up immediately prior to your session. I do have one MUP artist I occasionally work with that works out of a studio in Matthews.
Q: What's your editing process?
A: NBP never uses Photoshop on your images! Each of your selected images will get basic soft edits of color, exposure, contrast and sharpening. They will also be hand retouched to eliminate blemishes, sharpen eyes and slightly smooth the skin for a polished professional photo look. Photographer extras are only edited, not retouched. Trendy filters are not used. We aim for a classic, natural final image that stands the test of time.
Q. How far in advance should I book my session?
A. NBP books no more than 3 months in advance. Fall and spring are my busiest months. Call to book in the summer for fall portraits or in the winter for spring portraits.
From booking until you receive your last and final product can take upwards of a month depending on what Collection and products you have chosen. It is important to factor in these details and allow for ample time when scheduling your session.
You have up to two weeks to select your images for editing. I generally try and have a 7-10 day turnaround time on image galleries after your session has been shot. This depends on the season and the package you've selected as well as the time it takes you to select your favorites.
Q. Can I purchase just the digitals?
Digital files are included in all my collections!
A. Digitals are included in every package but you can purchase additional retouched digitals as well. A la carte digitals are sold separately for $15 each. I highly suggest purchasing some heirloom products such as wall art and albums that won't end up lost in a drawer or buried in a folder on your computer. Having tangible memories is a valuable part of the Natural Bloom experience. However, I realize that we live in an electronic age where digital images are valued. Unedited images are never sold.
Q. How many pictures are included?
A. Each package comes with a different amount of retouched images (Perfectly edited and retouched pictures you will post on social, print for gifts, enlarge, and use for grad announcements). You also receive additional digital images with soft edits only, meaning I don't retouch or fix blemishes and flyaways, etc. The amount varies depending on the session.
PORTRAIT PROCESS DETAILS
Booking Your Session
- Pick your collection, book your date, pay your retainer, and sign your contract. A 10% session non-refundable retainer is required at the time of booking to reserve your session date and time. This fee will be transferred in the event of illness or weather reschedules.
- Next, review the location guide and links for outfit inspiration. Then, pick a consultation date if your session includes one.
- Attend consult to finalize outfits and locations. You'll also get a ton of session tips!
Before Your Session
I will touch base THE DAY BEFORE your session to confirm the weather and final details. The best thing you can do is make sure you have everything laid out, pressed and ready to go THE NIGHT BEFORE! You'll want to make sure you get a decent night sleep too!
What to Bring To Your Session
It's a good idea to bring your makeup bag just in case! A colored lipstick or tinted lip balm is a must and a comb or brush is a good idea too. Of course, bring your outfits and props too! Anything else you might need I probably have in my car!
During Your Session
Relax, we are going to have fun, I promise! There is nothing to be nervous about, I got you! Have fun and enjoy being a model for a day!
After Your Session
Within about a day or two in most cases, I will send the best images in an online proofing gallery. At this time you will select your favorites that I will edit and will be used for the collection you have chosen. All selections will need to be finalized at this time. Notify me you have completed your selections and I will get to work!
After I receive your selections I will start the hand-editing process on each image you have chosen. You will receive all your digitals and order your basic print products as wells as have the opportunity to select images for wall art, albums, and grad cards.
Packages are customizable, so if you don't see one that fits your needs we can build one!

There is 20% non-refundable retainer is due at the time of booking to hold your date. This is applied to your final payment. Sales tax is applied to digital images.
A LA CARTE
A full range of a la carte products and services are available to further customize your Collections and experience with NBP. Some items include wall art like canvases, grad cards, thank you cards, and my favorite...albums. I strive to meet the individual needs of each of teen and family and realize that you all have something different in mind when you contact me for a session. A la carte items allow the freedom financially and creatively to gain an experience that is unique for you.
