Join us for a special evening as we celebrate students who have committed to our inaugural Sonrise Christian High School class. Parents and families will have the unforgettable opportunity to watch their students sign their letters of commitment and capture the moment with exciting photo opportunities. Students will receive exclusive, high-end Sonrise merchandise bags, and a delicious dinner will be provided for the whole family to enjoy. Families interested in learning more about our high school but have not yet committed are welcome to attend to receive valuable high school information. PARTNERSHIP WITH HEARTS ON FIRE CHURCH!
We are excited to announce our new partnership with Hearts on Fire Church! We are incredibly grateful to Pastor Tommy, Pastor Asenath, and their church board elders for their favor and partnership in this endeavor. Through this partnership, we will be leasing their campus and school building located at 250 E San Bernardino Rd, Covina, CA 91723—just 1.4 miles (five minutes) from our main campus. This location is centrally situated in Covina, right across the street from the Covina Police Department, Fire Department, City Hall, Downtown Covina, and the Public Library. The facility is spacious and well-equipped for a high school, featuring: a large multi-use building with ample classroom space, a full-court gymnasium for basketball, volleyball, and worship gatherings, a commercial kitchen, plentiful parking and accessibility, and plenty of space to learn, grow, and worship God. Year 1 of our high school will be held at our main campus and we will transition to the Hearts on Fire Church Family Life Center in year 2 and beyond.

GET INVOLVED: HELP SHAPE OUR HIGH SCHOOL
We announced at our meeting the need for parent involvement to help guide and develop key areas of our high school. We are forming the following committees: a spiritual committee to help shape the spiritual life and discipleship programs, an academic committee to provide insight & support for curriculum development and academic excellence, and a sports committee to assist in building a strong athletic program for our student-athletes. MEET OUR HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL COACH
At our High School Update Meeting, we were thrilled to announce that Bobby Merveille has been selected as the head coach for our high school basketball team! Bobby is a Sonrise alum and a student favorite. His experience includes a successful high school basketball career at Western Christian High School and a college basketball background. But beyond his impressive athletic background, Bobby has a love for the Lord and a passion for discipling youth through the game of basketball. We are excited for him to lead and build our high school basketball program, and we know he will make a lasting impact on our students both on and off the court!

WHAT WE KNOW
We are excited and extremely grateful to announce that Sonrise Christian School is adding high school to our program. Father God has heard the cry of our collective hearts and is now guiding us toward the necessary steps to begin high school for the 2025-2026 school year. The Board of Directors for Sonrise has formally approved this decision and now it's time to get to work!

SPACE IS LIMITED
We are excited to welcome students to our new high school for the 2025-26 school year! You can now secure your student's spot in our inaugural ninth-grade class, with only 40 spots available. To secure your student’s place and begin the admissions process, a $100 non-refundable deposit is required. This deposit guarantees your student will receive priority status towards admission into ninth-grade program. We encourage families to act promptly, as spaces are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Your diligent prayers have made this hope a reality and we need your prayers now more than ever. In the upcoming days we plan to share a written FAQ with you to begin answering all of the questions you may have. We are working to organize a High School Information Night to allow everyone to hear all about how the Lord is providing for Sonrise High School to begin. There is a lot we are working to discover and will transparently share everything with you very soon. However, there is also a lot we already know.

WHAT WE'VE LEARNED
We've learned how to ensure the high school will be accredited through both ACSI and WASC. We will begin with just 9th grade and add one grade level each year. We know we will provide quality education for students regardless of the college track they plan to take, which includes both Dual Enrollment and advanced classes in the future to earn college credit. Yes, we will have an athletic program and offer extracurricular options for our students as they shift into being young adults. Our desire is to make sure our students have a genuine and meaningful high school experience. The small and intimate school setting will be our strength and will allow us to instill in our students a biblical world-view to prepare them for adulthood. Our Christ-centered focus is to disciple, mentor and train our students to take their faith to the next level and go out and be impactful in whatever field they choose.

MAKING DISCIPLES
Sonrise Christian School will still be a place Where Children Grow in the Son. This will absolutely always apply for our younger students. As these same children transition to becoming young adults, Sonrise Christian High School will be where they become disciples for Christ to expand the Kingdom.
