Food, Frolicks, Fires & Fine Company
27 Feb - 1 Mar 2026
A weekend to unplug, unwind, and gently shake the dust out of your soul.
Calm Your Trollie is a hosted weekend escape in the mountains at the beautiful McBains Forest Cabins in Bainskloof. This is a chance to step into slow mornings, good food, river swims, and fireside nonsense.
Weโre inviting a small group of our favourite humans to book a room or cabin for the weekend and let us take care of the rest:
๐ two meals a day ๐ evening entertainment & hangs ๐ zero pressure, maximum vibes
This weekend away is a fundraiser to help us bring our Afrikaburn Artwork to life. We are going to build a giant trollie in the desert and your assistance would mean a hellovalot to us. Please help us bring our vision to life?
Come alone, with fam, with a lover, with a mate... just come as you are!

๐ The Vibe

- evenings are for food, laughter, music, and maybe a little mischief
Think: Forest holiday meets backyard braai meets tiny festival energy... but everyone actually gets to sleep.

๐ About The Trollie
The Skollie Trollie is a six-metre-tall wooden monument to modern madness. A bright yellow cathedral of consumption, built to be climbed, played on, and ultimately burned. Crafted from solid structural timber and screws (because capitalism always involves a bit of screwing), it gleams in oxide yellow - a golden idol to everything we buy, need, and discard. Unlike your average shopping cart, this one wonโt roll away. It stands still: a stationary spectacle in the desert, inviting Burners to clamber, lounge, and laugh at the absurdity of it all. The Trollie transforms a tool of commodification into a playground of irony and joy. A space for connection rather than consumption. As dusk falls and the flames rise, the Skollie Trollie meets its poetic end - a blaze of anti-commodified liberation. Through play, performance, and fire, it asks: what happens when we stop shopping and start sharing? A reminder that even symbols of capitalism can burn beautifully, leaving nothing behind but laughter, dust and hopefully a new way of seeing value.
