2023: Drag down 👇🏽

English Seminar

In January, after returning from the United States, I went to work as a volunteer at the English Seminar with a focus on unreached people groups at YWAM Monte das Águias located in Brazil, where I was a student at the same Seminar in 2022. The goal was to help students increase the ability to understand, read, write and speak English to use it as a tool for expanding the Kingdom of God.

Discipleship and Training School (DTS)

God invited me to staff (work as a full time missionary) the Discipleship Training School that began on February 12th at YWAM Monte das Águias where I did the same DTS as a student in 2022.

DTS is the entry school for YWAM (organization where I am a full-time missionary), with the aim of encouraging Christians to a life committed to God and His Word, encouraging students in their development of personal character, cultivating an active relationship with God and identifying their individual gifts according to the personal call of God for each one, focusing on the seven main areas of influence of our society: Church, Family, Education, Media, Arts, Government and Business. Always fulfilling the motto of our mission: "Know God and Make Him Known".

And I was serving in various roles, including: Discipleship, Training and Translation (because we had students and staff from Germany, USA, Australia, Russia, etc.)

The school is divided into two phases: The first phase is lecture, has a duration of three months, where the student is integrated into the community, having their meals and living within our Base. In addition, the student will receive follow-up and training in order to prepare him. The classes will be taught by several national and international speakers.

The second is the outreach phase, which lasts two months, following the lecture phase, where the staff will be leading students to apply what they learned in the first phase through a cross-cultural experience to make God known in another nation, where I led a team (one of the teams) of students of the school to the US and Canada!

Joshua Generation (JG)

After leading the DTS outreach, I volunteered for JG at YWAM Philadelphia in July! Joshua Generation is a 2-and-a-half-week program for students aged 12 to 18 to learn how to share the gospel with others. The first week is to train students to tell the story of the Gospel in a simple way and to do a dance and a drama. They hear from different speakers on several topics like forgiveness, holy spirit, apologetics.

The second week is outreach. Students take everything they have learned and put it into practice on the streets of Philadelphia, New York and Washington D.C. Me and my team performed the dance and drama and shared the love of Jesus in parks and squares throughout New York. I was a staff on this program last year and this year was my second year. I love to see how God works through all of us to reach people in cities with the gospel. JG'23 we all saw:

  • 21 healings
  • 263 rededications
  • 1873 salvations

On July 23rd I joined the team of staff of YWAM Pittsburgh where I did my Bible school (DBS) in 2022.

Mission Adventures (MA)

In July and August we run MA. Mission Adventures is a 1 week camp training for junior high, high school, youth and family groups for missions and to help the students grow in their faith. We trained the team at our base for the outreaches we did. Here are ways we used to reach these people:

  • We shared our faith in neighborhoods, streets and downtown Pittsburgh
  • We ran various Vacation Bible Schools (VBS) for local youth and refugees
  • We used dance, drama, and sports to draw crowds for evangelism
  • We served in community service projects
  • And others ways God led us to effectively communicate His Gospel…

DTS YWAM Pittsburgh

In September, God invited me to serve the Discipleship and Training School at YWAM Pittsburgh. I worked at this school in Brazil in the first semester and then here. Among other tasks, I discipled students individually and in small groups where students processed classes, devotional time, worship and intercession, teamwork and development of vocation, skills, projects and personal matters.
