FROM THE Principal’s Desk

Dear Bluejay Family,

I hope you all had a joyful and restful holiday season. I would like to extend my personal thanks to all who remembered my family and me with cards, gifts, and prayers for Christmas. Your thoughtfulness is deeply appreciated. As we embark on the second semester of the school year, I extend a warm welcome back to you all.

I would like to share a slight adjustment to our schedule that will take effect starting this semester. After careful consideration and in response to the valuable feedback from our Faculty Leadership Committee, we have decided to move our midday schoolwide prayer to the end of the school day. This adjustment will allow better participation across all grade levels due to varied schedules. Of course, we would like to extend the invitation to parents picking up students in the afternoon to join us for this meaningful time of prayer. Your participation will not only strengthen the bond between school and home but also contribute to the sense of unity that defines our school community.

Thank you for entrusting us with the education and spiritual development of your children. May this semester bring continued growth, learning, and moments of grace for each and every member of our school family.

Grace and Peace,

Erin B. Henry

Principal

“Rejoice always. Pray without ceasing. In all circumstances give thanks, for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.”

- 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

January Academics and Activities

As we return to our sweet home of St. Cecilia, January through Mardi Gras break will be a time filled with many fruitful and in-depth experiences for our students. Please pay careful attention to communications from your teachers. Resetting and regrounding ourselves in our Sunday meetings will be extremely helpful to stay on track with what is needed during this month.

Quarter 2 Report Card Release

Grades K-8 will have their report cards released both through the parent portal as well as emailed to those listed as correspondence on the FACTS account (just as progress reports were).

IMPORTANT: Please note students in grades 4-8 will also get their report cards emailed to their account so they can be fully aware of their grades as we work with them to track their progress. This is how both report cards and progress reports will be released for the remainder of the year.

Grades 6-8 Make Up Testing Center

Thank you all for a VERY successful first semester with the testing center. As we move forward please note the following to continue to serve our students in this process best:

  • Use the signup sheet located in your teachers’ Google classroom to sign up so the teacher can have the test ready for you
  • Please note the teacher needs to have at least one school day to get the test to the center for the student (i.e. signing up late the night before for a morning session the following day will not be feasible)
  • Please do not pick up your child until 3:05 pm for afternoon testing. If your child finishes early they can wait with the carline riders until you arrive to get them at the carline benches. This is for their safety and security so they are not confused about where you are to pick them up and can focus on the test.
  • The testing center is in our Spanish classroom located in the gym

Please note the times for the testing center. They do not change:

  • Monday/Wednesday afternoons from 2:45-3:20 pm
  • Tuesday/Thursday mornings from 7:20-7:55 am
