Weaponizing Men For Spiritual Warfare
We men are created in God’s image for five basic functions in life:
In this breakout session we will demonstrate spiritual warfare strategies that may assist you to be a more effective warrior for Christ. Most of you who come to meetings like this have also seen Gladiator…but you probably never knew the meaning of “Gladiator”. A “gladius” was a Roman short sword, 22 inch blade. This was the sword Paul saw on the Roman soldiers of his day and got the powerful picture of “sword of the spirit”, The Word. “Gladiator” simply means swordsman. So I say…Be a gladiator for God!!!
1. Adventure Living: We men have been motivated to “the adventure” since boyhood…what exactly is over that fence or hill…what about driving that car, etc.
2. Danger Facing: Just plain old adventure gets a little boring without just a bit of danger added in…a thrill…an adrenalin rush.
3. Battle Engaging: Our dreams and/or fantasies often pit us against an opposing force…sometimes a real event like sports…maybe a video game.
4. Dragon Slaying: Why bother with 1,2, or 3 if there is no dragon to take out. Some evil force…I watched cartoons with my grandchildren where the heroes save the city!
5. Beauty Rescuing: The real deal…why we get up in the morning. The warrior calling…to rescue the beauty. This is why we were born masculine!
You say, “But Barney, what beauty can I rescue, I’m just ___ _____ __.” And I say, “How about your wife and children, your brother-in Christ, your neighbor, your Faith and Nation. Satan will try to keep you on the sidelines but God has created you for Game Day!
