82nd FOUNDER'S DAY: HONORING VISION, CELEBRATING LEGACY

Salwan Education Trust marked its 82nd Founder’s Day on Tuesday, 5th December 2023 honoring Founder Late Pandit Girdhari Lalji. Salwan Montessori School fondly remembered and paid tribute to the beloved Founder Pt. Shri Girdhari Lal Salwan ji, the citadel of knowledge whose legacy we have been taking forward by walking on the footsteps shown by him.

This pious occasion was celebrated in the presence of our School Chairman Shri. Paramjit Khanna Ji, Director Maj Gen Surinder Singh, Parent Rep. Shri Nikhil Pawa and our Respected Head Ms. Sona Gombar who inspired us with their words of wisdom, leaving the students with cherished memories and a renewed sense of gratitude and humility. The program began by performing Havan followed by a special assembly to pay tribute to our respected Founder.

'𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐚𝐬'.

Christmas is not just a festival, it's a feeling that wraps us in the warmth of joy, love and abundance of blessings all around. To celebrate the divine birth of Jesus Christ and acquaint our young learners with the essence of Christmas, children visited the church, Epiphany. A Grand Christmas Celebration was organized wherein the children participated with great zest and zeal. The children enjoyed the celebration by singing prayer, enacted the story of Birth of Christ, sang carols and danced to the tunes of various foot tapping festive music and other Christmas songs with great excitement. Entry of Santa Claus and Spider man, getting gifts from them was the highlight of the celebration. The event beautifully captured the essence of Christmas, encouraging everyone to carry the spirit of love, peace, and Joy of giving.

𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫'𝐬 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐭 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐧 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐢 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥! As we bid adieu to 2023, our school pulled out the socks to ensure a fantastic goodbye! The classrooms came alive with vibrant class parties, electrifying dance sessions, thrilling games, and engaging art and craft activities.

Our talented children showcased their creativity by crafting stunning New Year cards, pouring their hearts into drawing, coloring, and adorning them with delightful decorations. And the joy of relishing a lavish spread during the class party - the smiles said it all!

The rhythm of laughter and excitement filled the air during the dance sessions, as our students moved and grooved to their favorite tunes!

Our heartwarming celebration concluded with heartfelt wishes by the school head extended to our incredible students and their parents for a marvelous New Year 2024 ahead!

Here's to cherishing wonderful moments, embracing new beginnings, and stepping into 2024 with enthusiasm at Salwan Montessori School!

KIDS EXPLORING NATURE'S WONDER AT MOWGLI'S FARMS !"

"An enchanting day at Mowgli Farms: where laughter echoed, curiosity bloomed, and nature became our classroom of wonder and joy."

Salwan Montessori School organized a day excursion to the ‘Mowgli Farms’ on 1st December 2023. The day unfolded as a day of enriching experiences, filled with laughter and excitement as little ones explored the wonders of the farm. From petting fluffy rabbits to giggling at quirky goats, milking the cow and an exciting pony ride, the children embraced the joy of connecting with nature. The vibrant colors of barns and the scent of hay created a sensory-rich experience, fostering a love for animals and the outdoors. Teachers facilitated fun gross motor activities, making the trip a delightful blend of fun and learning for these young adventurers.

The value and importance of soil should not be overlooked, as health begins with soil. The soil is a medium for living things and lives itself and its strength can be killed by those not aware. In order to make our young learners aware and enlighten them about the importance of soil, ‘Save the Soil Day’ was celebrated in Salwan Montessori School. Children watched a compelling video related to the importance of soil and how to make the soil enriched. Children were engaged in an outdoor adventure to discover earthworms and educate them about their vital role in soil productivity. To foster a love for nature, packets of seeds were distributed, encouraging children to grow and nurture plants at home.

"FUELING HEALTHY VISION AND HABITS THROUGH THE '21 DAYS CARROT CHALLENGE' FOR OUR LITTLE ONES' BRIGHTER, NOURISHED FUTURES!"

"Our school organized the '21 Days Carrot Challenge' to encourage healthy vision and diets among our students, prompted by concerns raised in medical camp reports regarding visual health. Helen Keller Worldwide's initiative, 'Healthy Schools, Healthy Snacks, Healthy Futures,' We requested parents to provide a raw carrot daily for 21 days, starting from Friday, 12th December. Carrots, rich in beta-carotene, play a significant role in improving vision. This practice aims to instill in our children the habit of consuming fresh and nutritious vegetables, benefiting their overall health, ensuring essential nutrient intake, and promoting smooth digestion."

At SMS, we're dedicated to holistic education and values beyond academics. Our recent initiative, the Energy Conservation Drive, emphasizes environmental responsibility. Through morning assemblies, we introduced this drive as a collective effort involving our entire school community. We're encouraging students to lead by example by practicing energy conservation at home, engaging in conversations about its importance, and cultivating energy-saving habits. This initiative aims not only to reduce our school's energy consumption but also to instill lifelong environmentally conscious behaviors. Together, we're making a real difference in combatting climate change for a sustainable future.

To help our children get a plethora of opportunities to perform on stage, develop confidence and to enhance their communication skills, Salwan Montessori School organized a 'Speak for a minute' activity on 27th December on the theme- My favorite Transport. Children chose topics on their own and got an opportunity to present in front of their friends and speak about their favorite transport with the help of very creative props. This actually facilitated the tiny tots to come out of their shell and showcase confidence. Little Salwanians thoroughly enjoyed this activity.

𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐃𝐚𝐲 celebration brought immense joy to the little champs at Salwan Montessori School on Monday, 18th December and the day ended up filled with their vibrant smiles. The colour brown signifies the beauty and importance of our mother Earth. Different shades of brown bring us closer to beautiful things present in our Nature. All the children were dressed up in brown colour dresses and they enjoyed playing games and art and craft activities related to the colour.

Team building activities play a crucial role in promoting collaboration, communication, and social development among young children. Team Building Activities were organized by the Salwan Montessori School, to foster collaboration and social development in young Salwanians.

Through various activities, children got an opportunity to interact with their peers, develop important social skills, and establish a sense of belonging within a group. These games involved children cooperating and working together to achieve a common goal rather than competing against each other.

Parent-teacher collaboration in the early years of a child's education is of paramount importance. This partnership between parents and educators lays a strong foundation for a child's development and academic success. Since the early years of a child's life are a critical period of growth and development during this time, the collaborative efforts of parents and teachers play a pivotal role in shaping a child's future. This partnership creates a supportive environment that fosters learning, emotional well-being, and social development. In an endeavor to bridge the gap between classroom teaching and the parents and to make them equal partners in their child's learning, Salwan Montessori School taking the initiative forward, 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐀𝐂𝐀𝐃𝐄𝐌𝐈𝐄𝐒 where in the parents will time to time be exposed to different modules and strategies which are crucial to their child's development. After the success of the first Parent Academy session the second session was conducted on 16th December 2023. Two modules were planned in this session namely 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐍𝐮𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐃𝐫 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐚 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐚 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐖𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐛𝐲 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐰𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐭 𝐌𝐬. 𝐍𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐮 𝐀𝐫𝐨𝐫𝐚. The session had an amazing impact on the parents as they were given the opportunity to seek expert advice on one of the most important areas and concerns, they are dealing with and is a cause of concern for many. The session was a great success and was appreciated by all.

INTRODUCTION OF IMPORTANT ELEMENTS FOR LANGUAGE ACQUISITION

The resource person Mr Kalpesh Bordawekar, Senior Vice President of Karadi Path Education Company Chennai, was invited to take a session on Language acquisition. The session commenced with Mr. Boldwekar asking that why we never teach mother-tongue to a child and still he/she acquires it so effortlessly. Because, howsoever, difficult the first language may be, the child does not find it so, as he does not make any effort to learn it. It is a language which is not taught but caught. The child keeps listening to it very often and therefore learns it without being taught formally.

The session emphasizes on a unique solution for young minds coming from different regional backgrounds to tackle English comprehension. It enhances linguistic skills and gives language proficiency without teaching vocabulary, meaning or grammar. It helps in solving one of the biggest dilemmas of a child in a very natural and fun way.
