Message from our Principal
Welcome to Week 3!
Road Safety Week and using e-bikes or e-scooters
This week, across the state, we recognise Road Safety Week. It is increasingly important with the rise in young people using e-bikes, that we all work together to ensure safety for our students as well as all road users. There is some information about safe use of e-bikes and their storage as well as what types of e-bikes are legal for students. Families should be aware that schools are able to deny students access to store illegal vehicles on school grounds and if this is the case, families will be contacted to advise this. In NSW, it is illegal to ride a privately owned e-scooter on public roads or road-related areas including footpaths and cycle ways. E-scooters are therefore not permitted on school grounds. For more information, visit this link.
P&C meeting tonight Monday
Our P&C meets this evening in the library, please come along to help make our school the very best it can be.
Disability Recognition Week
Also happening this week is Disability Recognition Week. This week allows us to focus on the sense of belonging that we build here at Mullumbimby High School for our students and staff that live with a disability. Our team in Inclusive Education and Learning Support do an amazing job of this, every day. It is always fantastic to see our students shine when provided the opportunity for equity.
Cross Country
Our Cross-Country last week was a great opportunity for our all-abilities students to shine and for some serious personal bests to be achieved by all students participating. Congratulations to Rocco and Lily-Rose from Year 8 who were the first students in their categories to cross the line. The competition was also fierce in the staff category with Mr. William Humphreys taking out the converted first place. Many thanks to our organiser, Ms. Sarah Pierce, and for the great MHS team that pulled together to ensure a great carnival despite some tricky weather as well as the surf club renovations.
What's on this week?
Coming up on our school calendar this week, we have Individual transition plan meetings for our year 12 Inclusive Education students, CHS 7s Rugby for both Boys and Girls and Far North Coast Tennis. On Wednesday, our 2026 Year 7 students will be visiting us from our partner primary schools to engage in some taster lessons.
Enjoy week 3 and stay safe on our roads.
