- Happy Monday! The weekend rain has replenished our campus greens and brought slightly cooler temperatures.
- This past week saw us welcome members of the Fundación HispanoJudía for a Memorandum of Understanding signing that will enable future research, educational and cultural collaborations.
- We also welcomed local community-serving agencies to our Partnership TAMIU: An Alliance for Good an innovative campus service program that pairs students with agencies.
- On Saturday, we had fun at the first-ever Bi-national Mexican Independence Parade. Dusty made an appearance alongside our UPD, SCCE, Ballet Folklorico, Cheer, and our Soccer Team! See video below.
- Tomorrow, we’ll welcome members of the Matias De Llano Trust to campus for their announcement of a gift to our new Banking Academy, part of the A.R. Sanchez, Jr. School of Business. Join us at 10:30 a.m. in the Matias De Llano Auditorium in Academic Innovation Center 126.
- On Friday, learn about research being conducted by TAMIU’s Dr. Fatick Nath for the second installation of our Research and Sponsored Projects Fall Seminar Series at 12 noon in the AIC West Lobby. Light refreshments will be available.

TAMIU Signs MOU with Fundación HispanoJudía to Promote Research, Educational, Cultural Collaboration
TAMIU announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with Fundación HispanoJudía, a historic Agreement enabling future research, educational and cultural collaborations between the two institutions.
The Agreement marks a milestone in the exploration and celebration of the rich heritage of Sephardic Jewish ancestry in the region. The partnership will focus on joint research projects that delve into the history, culture, and contributions of Sephardic Jewish communities who migrated to the Americas in the 16th Century.
Laredo Center for Arts Offers Killam Collection of Don Quixote Illustrations; TAMIU’s Jesse Shaw Leads Printmaking Workshops
The Laredo Center for the Arts, in collaboration with Cliffe Killam, is proud to announce a special upcoming exhibit, "The Quest to Dream: A Rare Collection of the First Printed Don Quixote Illustrations," set to take place from Friday, September 20 to Wednesday, October 9.
This extraordinary exhibit will feature the first illustrations of Miguel Cervantes' classic novel, Don Quixote de la Mancha. Admission to the exhibit is free, and donations are welcome to support future educational and cultural programming. An opening reception will be held Sept. 20.

Local community-serving agencies gathered to sign a Memorandum of Agreement affirming their commitment to Partnership TAMIU: An Alliance for Good.
Signing partners included: American Red Cross Serving Central and South Texas, Children's Advocacy Center of Laredo-Webb County, Lake Casa Blanca International State Park - Texas Parks and Wildlife, Laredo Animal Protective Society (LAPS), Laredo Area Community Foundation, Laredo Crime Stoppers, Laredo Film Society, Laredo Fair, Literacy Volunteers of Laredo, MileOne, MOVE Texas, NeighborWorks Laredo, Instituto Cultural Mexicano de Laredo, RGISC Rio Grande International Study Center, Ruthe B.
