Welcome Dustdevils!

Monday, Dec. 8, 2025

Good Morning Dustdevils,

  • Last week, we announced an important $38 million dollar gift from Yield Giving, the primary philanthropic vehicle for MacKenzie Scott, philanthropist and author. This marks the second largest gift in TAMIU’s now 55-year history and will support our students’ success. Read more here.
  • We also enjoyed seeing you at last week’s Late Night Breakfast, Trailblazer Legacy Night and Ring Day. We hope you enjoyed these campus traditions as we capped off another successful semester.
  • For many of you, this week marks one of the most important moments of your life: Commencement.
  • We’ll honor Fall 2025 candidates for graduation at Fall Commencement Ceremonies Thursday, Dec. 11, 2025, at the Sames Auto Arena.
  • Two ceremonies will be held, one at 11 a.m. and one at 4 p.m. Ceremonies are open to the public and free of charge and are also livestreamed. Scroll down for livestream links for each ceremony.
  • The 11 a.m. ceremony will feature undergraduate and graduate candidates for degrees from the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Nursing and Health Sciences.
  • The 4 p.m. ceremony includes candidates for undergraduate and graduate degrees from the A. R. Sanchez, Jr. School of Business and the College of Education.
  • Thursday’s ceremonies include the graduation of six candidates for doctoral degrees in either International Business or Criminal Justice. This is the largest number of students to earn a Ph.D. in the University’s history.
  • Providing the commencement address for the fall candidates at both ceremonies is José Angel Moreno, former U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Texas and retired longtime agent in charge, attaché and chief of various programs.
  • Visit our Commencement website for the most up-to-date information on ceremony times, regalia, photography and more.
  • Don’t forget, registration for Wintermester and Spring 2026 semester continues online via Uconnect. Learn more at our dedicated Registration Hub.
