The Week Ahead!!

Upcoming Wellness Break

With every extended break this school year, MSE will be treating the upcoming Thanksgiving Break as a "Wellness Break." That means that during the break - November 27 - December 1, there will be no work, projects, quizzes or tests to study for, nothing sent home for students to work on during the break. We want to prioritize rest, relaxation, and family time during the break and we encourage parents to follow suit and disconnect from your work as much as possible and use the time together. Teachers are also encouraged to take the time to recharge and not check email, lesson plan, and relax! We firmly believe these breaks help everyone in our MSE Community be able to rest and come back ready to go!

MSE Turkey Trot!

MSE's first ever Turkey Trot was a great success! Thank you to all of the parents, family members, and anyone who donated to make this a success for our students and staff! Special thanks to the MSE PCC for working so hard on it and for the parent volunteers who helped on Friday! Some pictures of the event are below, if you want even more pictures, make sure to join the MSE PCC Facebook page for more pictures, live video, and all information about events and how to get involved at MSE.

On Thursday, November 14, the PCC hosted Bingo Night. We had a great turnout of families who came out for a night of fun and community. Special thanks to Mrs. Karpinsky and the PCC for hosting and special thanks to Mrs. Warren, our literacy specialist, and one of our teachers, Mrs. Rea for sharing Math and Literacy bags for each family and connecting families with resources and how to stay involved at MSE.
NJHS Students donated snacks and made thank you cards for the residents at the Michigan Veteran's Home right in our Chesterfield Community. Thanks NJHS and Mrs. Rea!!
Drum roll please........ MSE Advanced Band Member Sonny S. was selected as a percussionist for the All-State Middle School Honors Band! Sonny was chosen after completing a rigorous audition process for an expert judging panel this fall. In January, he will perform at the Michigan Music Conference with the best middle school musicians in the State of Michigan!! Bravissimo Sonny!

Eagle of the Week!

This week's Eagle of the Week is Angeline I. who was nominated by her Math Teacher Mrs. McDevitt who wrote "This student has gone above & beyond demonstrating one of the most difficult of the 4-R's...resilience. They embraced the challenge of advanced math this year, been met with frustration at times, & persevered. This student has gained confidence, participates in class & is attentive during instruction. They have also given up lunch periods to seek clarification of concepts being learned to ensure understanding. It is my pleasure to honor Angeline!!"

Be the Change Award Winner

This week's "Be the Change" Positive Office Referral winner is Angel G! Congrats, and thanks for being a positive influence at MSE.

Attendance Reminders!

We are doing great on attendance at MSE this year, thank you parents! Remember that we want every child at MSE every day so they can learn and interact with their peers and teachers. They learn best when they are in school. If your child is sick, it is always good practice to get doctors notes for those days. In addition, appointments, grab a letter as well! We are constantly working with students to get them involved in their attendance and seeing what is impacting them, stay tuned for raffles and incentives for tardies and attendance!
