Using Quick Actions for Video An Online resource for Staff using Adobe Express

In this online resource we are going to look at some of the new tools in Adobe Express, known as 'Quick Actions'. The Activities will demonstrate a couple of the most popular quick actions and then allow you time to try using the other quick actions available.

Tip: Understand the difference between Trim video and Resize video quick actions.

  • Trim video quick action shortens reels to just the relevant information.
  • Resize video quick action helps in resizing a video file for social media platforms.

How to trim a video / short clip

Instructions

  1. On the Adobe Express homepage, under What do you want to make, select Video icon.
  2. Scroll down to the Quick Actions section and select Trim video.
  3. Upload a video from your device.
  4. Set Start Time and End Time.
  5. Select the screen Size of your choice.
  6. Optional: Select Mute for no sound output.
  7. Select Download. You can also select Open in Adobe Express to use the file in another project.

Resize a video for all social media platforms

Instructions

  1. On the Adobe Express homepage, under What do you want to make, select Video.
  2. Scroll down to the Quick Actions section and select Resize video.
  3. Browse and upload a video from your device.
  4. Use the dropdown menu to select auto-sizing for social media channels, or choose the custom option to set your own dimensions.
  5. Select the orientation and aspect ratio you would like to use, and then use the video scale slider to make final adjustments.
  6. Select Download. You can also select Open in Adobe Express to use the file in another project.
