Welcome Jon & Teresa Simons (along with children Norah, Caedmon, and Lina) this weekend at CWC! They'll be in the Life Center between services.
Jon & Teresa serve with one of the only accredited Spanish-speaking seminaries in the world in Medellín, Colombia. This summer and fall, they'll bless their Colombian schoolby teaching at another seminary in Florida. This will further the seminaries' partnership by increasing opportunities for Colombian students to get further training, plus enhance the mission outreach of the American professors and students.
Praises & Prayer Requests:
- Thank God for the time this allows the children to experience extended family and life in American schools and churches. Ask for good friends during their time in Florida!
- Pray for God to use this time to increase the spread of His Good News throughout the world!

Join us this Sunday, 7/7, at 1:45pm in Room 6 of the Student Building (down the hall behind Pneuma) to learn about our Mission Trip to Juarez, Mexico!
September 30-October 5, our team will serve alongside Nolan & Marie Schockey, CWC Missionaries to Juarez. Planned ministry includes a "car clinic" teaching the Mexican pastors to change their oil, rotate tires, and do simple repairs. (No need for extensive knowledge of cars - we'll teach you! But those with knowledge are appreciated, too!) Other options to use your gifts include serving the pastors' wives by baking or crafting together, sharing devotionals, and learning to cook real Mexican food. Pray about how God might want to use YOU!

Clases de Español: Would you like to learn a little Spanish for a planned Mission Trip or just to help interact with the neighbors around you? We'll focus on basic travel Spanish & lots of practice time.
When: Thursdays - 7/25, 8/1, and 8/8 from 6-7pm
Where: Calvary Worship Center Main Building

Update on Kenya
Our sister church, Mathare Worship Centre (MWC), has come up against great difficulty over the past month, but God has used them as a beacon of light in the midst of darkness! Many of you have been praying for MWC & Hope's Promise as they minister to families and orphans in the slums of Nairobi, Kenya. The area has encountered flooding and then government destruction of much of the local slum area. Then the city and country have experienced protests, rioting, and police brutality.
Prayers & Praises:
- Because MWC owns their property, the government did not evict them like so many other families, businesses, and churches. Praise God for the stability and place of ministry He gave them "for such a time as this"!
- Pray for tens of thousands of residents of Mathare Valley whose homes were demolished by the government, including those of five of the Hope's Promise Kuza families. Pray for those families who lost their homes after years of other traumas and losses. Thank God Hope's Promise and MWC were able to help the Kuza families find places to live, but that comes with varying levels of loss of community and stability.
- Pray for 24 Hope's Promise kids in non-relative placement (Sanctuary of Hope) and 80 in families with relatives (Kuza) in Mathare Valley.
- Continue to pray for Sanctuary of Hope teenager S, who was swept up in 2021 school fire incidents. Court hearing scheduled yet again for Aug 8. Pray for emotional healing for S.
- Pray for God's perfect timing to expand Kuza relative based care into a new area, Gatete.

A few children still need sponsors who will pray & provide a fun backpack and school supplies. You can also serve by processing the backpacks or distributing them. Please pray that God will bless each of these children and families with His love and the Gospel!
Pastor Zechariah Arni, serving in Haifa, Israel, sent the following email to all of you who pray and support his ministry:
Shalom, dear family,
I hope this email finds you well, it's already almost 9 months in Israel that things are not normal and as the time goes it feels that it is difficult to contain the situation.
At the same time, by the Lord's grace, we manage to discover the love of Messiah precisely in this dark time and God brings people to his kingdom and this encourages us. We distribute food to the needy, help the soldiers and show the love of Yeshua to our people.
I really thank you for your prayers and support.

One of CWC's largest local outreaches is Vacation Bible School, coming to CWC 7/15-19. They will be teaching how Jesus is the SOLID ROCK, and we can build our lives on Him!
Please pray!
- For the Children's Ministry Team, who are working hard to prepare! Pray for creativity, unity, and rest as they experience God's easy yoke and light burden!
- Our Afghan friends want to come again! Pray for insight on how best to welcome and accommodate these Muslim children who are asking to come learn about Isa (Jesus).
- For each child to experience God's love and the freedom & stability of Christ.
- For enough laborers for the fields that are ripe for the harvest!
Volunteers are still needed for the VBS end-of-the-week BBQ, Friday, 7/19. Please help serve the team and the children & families! You can set-up, paint a face, or serve a cookie to share God's love!
