Here I created a postcard for Hawaii and as this was my first Photoshop project, I learned a lot, including how to put images into letters, how to layer, and how to use the drawing tools. My goal was to create a colorful and realistic postcard of Hawaii’s main island so that if you would want to buy this postcard in real life. I think it looks good and I’m not sure if I would change anything, except I feel like the overlayed paper made it look faded. Also, it doesn't have the same feeling that most postcards would, as I feel like the colors and sand are very different. Overall I hope the audience sees it and would buy it if it was in a store in Hawaii.
Here, I created an image that shows a man trying to fish, but all the fish are dead, and there is a lot of pollution instead. This shows how pollution is doing a lot of damage to the environment but there are ways we can fix it as most of these items can be recycled or disposed of in a better way. I learned composition and how to take many different images and put them together to make one image and my goal was to create an image that reflects a huge problem in our world. I learned to also make the light face the sun and layer water over the objects in a non-destructive way to make it feel realistic. I feel like this picture looks very good and all the details in it work together to create a good portrayal of how pollution is in bodies of water around the world. I hope the audience sees this and notices that this is a real and very sad problem that they can help fix.
This is a movie poster for a movie about a war and here I learned how to use very few colors to create an image that still has detail and contrast. It is set in Washington D. C. and portrays a war against an unknown foreign nation, and I wanted it to feel like a 90's action movie. I also learned how to use seamless patterns to create more detail and interesting parts in the image. My goal was to create a war-themed poster somehow and make it look like chaos, however, I feel like it’s too simple and I would’ve liked to add more objects and detail to it, though I do like it overall. I hope the audience sees it and wants to watch it if they like action and war movies, and I hope they think it looks interesting and entertaining.
This book cover design was created for Hatchet, a story about a boy who has to survive in the Canadian wilderness alone. I incorporated the plane that he crashed in, the lake he lived at, and the many trees that are the only thing surrounding him for hundreds of miles. I learned how to make these items as construction paper and then put them together to make a collage on the book cover to get to the final goal of creating a very peaceful and good-looking cover that would show the setting of his situation. I especially like the water reflection of the trees, plane, and sky. I feel that it turned out very well and it looks very good and I hope my audience will feel that this cover is peaceful and mysterious so they want to read the book.
