Principal Message
At our school, we are proud to offer our students exceptional learning opportunities that are not commonly seen elsewhere. Our commitment to providing a high-quality education is grounded in the understanding that a strong foundation in learning leads to greater success and wellbeing later in life.
A key example of this is our implementation of InitiaLit, an evidence-based whole-class literacy program developed by Macquarie University. InitiaLit is explicitly taught in Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2 by trained facilitators, ensuring our youngest learners receive the highest standard of early reading and literacy instruction. This program is grounded in research and provides a systematic and effective approach to teaching phonics, reading, spelling and comprehension.
We are also proud to offer a range of opportunities to extend and challenge students at their point of need. Some students are participating in acceleration programs, working beyond their stage level in particular learning areas. This flexible and responsive approach ensures that all students are engaged, supported and extended to reach their full potential.
These initiatives reflect our unwavering commitment to academic excellence and student growth. We know that a strong education is one of the most powerful tools we can provide to set our students up for future success in learning and in life.
Our Young Leaders Inspired by the Dream and Lead Program
Last week, our school leaders had the exciting opportunity to participate in the Dream and Lead program, a leadership initiative designed to inspire and empower the next generation of young changemakers.
Held at the ICC Centre in Sydney, the program brought together student leaders from a range of schools to explore what it truly means to lead with purpose, empathy and confidence. Throughout the day, our students engaged in a series of workshops and hands-on activities focused on leadership skills such as communication, teamwork, decision-making and problem-solving.
They listened to a range of inspiring guest speakers who shared their own leadership journeys and encouraged students to think about the kind of leaders they want to be. Students also had the opportunity to collaborate with peers from other schools, reflect on their own leadership values, and explore how they can make a positive difference in their school community.
It was a valuable experience that not only built practical leadership skills but also encouraged our students to dream big and lead with heart.
Our student leaders returned full of enthusiasm and ideas, eager to put their learning into action and continue their important work as role models and active contributors in our school.
We are incredibly proud of the way they represented our school and look forward to seeing them grow and thrive as leaders throughout the year.

In Weeks 10 and 11, teachers will be meeting with parents and carers for Parent Teacher Interviews. The booking portal is now closed. If you missed the opportunity to make a booking, please contact the school directly to arrange a meeting with your child’s teacher.
Harmony Day
We had a wonderful Harmony Day at Kambora Public School, filled with joy, colour and community spirit. Our students looked fantastic dressed in orange, symbolising inclusiveness, respect and belonging. It was heartwarming to see everyone come together to celebrate our diverse community, with students proudly sharing performances and activities. Well done to all for making it such a memorable celebration!

PSSA Report
Last Friday, our Kambora students braved the wet weather and took to the field for an exciting day of Eagle Tag. Despite the drizzle, the teams played with great fairness, enthusiasm and competitive spirit, showing resilience and teamwork in challenging conditions. It was fantastic to see the students giving their best and supporting one another throughout the day. A big thank you to Mr McSeveny for his excellent coaching and preparation. The students were well-organised, confident and played with pride.
Zone Swimming
Congratulations to all students who represented our school at the recent Zone Swimming Carnival. Participation was outstanding, and we are incredibly proud of the enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and determination shown by every swimmer.
Tennis Homesport
Each Friday morning, our homesport students have been enjoying tennis sessions with our fantastic external coaches. These sessions have been a great opportunity for students to learn the rules of the game, build their skills, and stay active through a variety of fun and engaging tennis games. It’s been wonderful to see their confidence grow each week as they develop their coordination, teamwork, and love for the sport.
Dance Selection
A big congratulations to our talented Kambora dance group for being selected to perform in Sydney North Dance. The students learnt the dance quickly and demonstrated outstanding commitment, enthusiasm and teamwork throughout their rehearsals. Led by our skilled dance instructor Amber, the group impressed with their energy, focus and creativity. We are so proud of their efforts and can’t wait to see them shine on stage. Well done, dancers!
