10-minute declutter checklist

Set a timer for 10 minutes. Pick one area below and work through it quickly. Don’t overthink! Anything you no longer use, love, or need goes in a donate, discard, or relocate pile.

1. Entrance / Catch-All Area

  • Remove shoes that don’t get worn
  • Clear out mail, receipts, or random papers /bills
  • Put away bags, keys, or items left out

2. Kitchen

  • Discard expired food or drinks
  • Clear out 1 drawer or shelf
  • Donate unused kitchen gadgets

3. Living Room

  • Remove clutter from coffee table
  • Clear any out-of-place items (remote controls, toys, etc.)
  • Fold blankets and straighten pillows

4. Bedroom / Wardrobe

  • Pick 5 items of clothing to donate
  • Clear off bedside tables or dresser tops
  • Make the bed neatly

5. Bathroom

  • Discard old or empty products
  • Clear surfaces of clutter
  • Organise 1 drawer or cabinet

6. Digital Declutter (Optional)

  • Delete old screenshots or photos
  • Clear 1 inbox folder
  • Unsubscribe from 1 email list

Tips for Success

  • Don’t aim for perfection, just progress.
  • Keep a small box/bag ready for donations or trash.
  • Celebrate after 10 minutes. You just created more space and calm!
