About the History in Movies Screening
The “History in Movies Screening” is a showcase for student-produced movies about History. Submit your movie to be part of the event on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at 6:30 PM in the Floyd Theater (SAC). See your movie on the big screen with an audience of people who love historical movies! Invite your family, friends, actors and crew to watch your movie in the Floyd Theater! Meet and be part of a Q & A with other student filmmakers!
Submit a link to your movie (with the submission form) by Wednesday, March 6th at 11:59 PM.
Movie requirements: We will accept submissions for any movie with historical content produced by UofL students since January 2022, which has not been part of a History in Movies Screening in the past. Movies can be any genre of historical narrative or documentary, and on any topic or time period. There is no minimum length, but movies should be no longer than 10 minutes.
To submit your movie: Fill out the submission form (link below) and include a link to your movie by Wednesday, March 6th at 11:59 PM.
In the submission form you will need to
- Provide basic information about yourself and your movie.
- Write a brief synopsis of your movie. This is a short summary of the movie, 1- 4 sentences.
- Provide a link to your access your movie (required with submission). If your movie is selected for the screening, we may ask you for the video files and an image for the program (not required for initial submission).
- Acknowledge that you obtained permissions for all actors and locations in your movie and explain any copyrighted materials you have used.
- Give us permission to screen your movie at the event on April 2, 2024.
- Let us know if you, your actors and crew will attend the event at the Floyd Theater , (SAC) on April 2, 2024.

Dates and Deadlines
- Submission Deadline: Wednesday, March 6th at 11:59 PM
- Filmmakers notified of acceptance by: Tuesday, March 26th (or before)
- The “History in Movies Screening 2024”: Tuesday, April 2nd at 6:30 PM in the Floyd Theater (SAC).
