Headteacher Comment
We have had a very busy week at Greenfields and we have taken delight in hosting training of phonics and early reading for a number of local schools, as well as maths training for new teachers. At every point we have taken the opportunity to provide guided tours for colleagues to see the fantastic learning in our classes and we always enjoying the lovely comments about how brilliant our children are.
You will have received a note on MCAS about our Harvest Assembly celebrations that will be taking place in school on October 19th. Please bring your donations of non-perishable items and click on the link below for more information about items that Kettering Food Bank always need.
Have a lovely weekend.

The Battle is on.......
This week Year Six started their weekly battle on TTRS. It was incredibly tense and the children were more focused than ever. Soaring Eagles won at the last minute (sabotaged by Mr Hughes 😀!)
Roll on next week when I'm sure Proud Lions will be victorious,
Jigsaw in Action
Year Four had great fun in their Jigsaw 'Connect Us' Part of our lesson this week. The class worked in teams of three to make the letters Miss Mitchell called out. They quickly realised the importance of teamwork to do this! TEAM... Together Everyone Achieves More. It really is true. Good communication, respect, compromise and listening skills are all key to successful teamwork and we smashed it! Can you work out which letters we are showing here?
Great Teamwork
This week, as part of their computing learning, the children in Year Two explored how to add effects to photos using a website called Pixlr. They loved changing the colours of the photos and deciding which ones looked best. They all worked brilliantly in their small groups too, great teamwork!
Mr. Wiggle and Mr. Waggle
This week in Ladybirds the children have enjoyed learning our new story Mr. Wiggle and Mr. Waggle. They went up and down the hills to find Mr. Waggle's house. When they reached Mr. Waggle's house they found apple juice and biscuits waiting for them. They sat down with a juice and biscuit and then listened to the story.
Football Teams update
Both the boys' and girls' teams played great football this week. The boys were runners up and are off to the County Finals! Well done teams!
Terrific Teamwork
Year Five have had an extreme focus on building their teamwork skills! They had a fantastic time completing a human caterpillar! We adore working as a team in Year Five!
Drama in R.E
This week, Year One have been exploring the different events that Christians celebrate through role play. This children brought the events to life. Many children said they loved the wedding the most!
Digging for Treasure!
Reception have been busy digging for treasure in the garden this week. The children have been looking for jewels and special treasures. They asked lots of questions about where the treasure had come from and who had left it. They even had a go at making up our own maps to show where the treasure is in our garden.

Home School Agreement
As we become more used to our online way of working, we thought it was important to add to our home/school agreement (that you signed when your child started at Greenfields) to include online learning. Please follow the link below to complete this short addition relating to online learning with Greenfields Primary School and Nursery.
Class Code and Google Link
These have been updated for the classes in 2023-24, so click on the link for the class you will be in in September.
Teachers always look forward to posting their ‘Flippin' Greenfields’ videos every Friday next term in time for the weekend. Each one is all about next week’s learning, so will get your child prepared for a flying start on Monday. Research shows that children who feel prepared for the coming week are less anxious about school, happier to get up and go on a Monday morning and achieve better than those who are not.
