The children will be developing language and communication as well as learning to work as a team, taking turns and negotiating plans using the outdoor resources. We will be using not only our outdoor area but schools’ extensive grounds including the wilderness area.

How you can support at home

As discussed during your parents evening meetings last term your support with hearing your child read at home is crucial to them developing fluency. Please aim to read their new book at least 3 times a week, if not more and remember to write in the reading record.

Continue to use the digraph and trigraph flash cards and red words in your child’s wallet to help your child quickly recognise them in their books.

Please make sure your child has their book bag in school every day.

Thank you for all your support throughout the year, we have enjoyed working with you. We will provide Summer Holiday home learning packs to help your child prepare for Year 1 before school closes in July.
