IES ALVAR NÚÑEZ VISITS ANNE-FRANK SCHOOL ERASMUS+ EUROPEAN WONDERS STUDENTS' MOBILITY

DAY 1

After the warm welcoming, our students were taken to some lessons and shown the school, meeting room, gym, labs, workshops, classrooms...

The school is quite different to ours, modern and with lots of technological appliances.
As sustainability is one of the goals in our project, we focused on how they use different bins to separate rubbish. They are placed in the corridors and in each of the classrooms. Signaling on top of the bins helps students with the process of separating.
Students learnt about Germany, its educational system and also about the main landmarks in the region.

AFTERNOON IN THE CENTRE OF GÜTERSLOH

Walking along the shores of the river Dalke, the German students talked about the economy and the history of their city, Gütersloh.
Even though the weather was rather wet, they all enjoyed the afternoon together.

Some collaborative games followed, in order to learn more about the city and its culture.

Developing language skills.

Wonderful architecture in the old part of the city.

DAY 2 - THE TEUTOBURG FOREST

As natural heritage and sustainability are two of the main goals of our project, on our second day in Germany we visited iconic places in the Teutoburg Forest.

The walk was worth it and students enjoyed it very much.

DAY 3 - A VISIT TO COLOGNE

UNESCO World Heritage Site, Cologne is the fourth biggest city in Germany and, because of our goals, one of the places we were more interested in visiting.

Its breathtaking Gothic-style cathedral is one of the biggest in the world, with its twin towers 157 metres high. The view from the top is wonderful.

DAY 4 - WORKING AT SCHOOL

After having been gathering information together and taking pictures of the city the previous day, on the fourth day of our visit, the students met again to elaborate a cooperative presentation with all the details they learnt from the trip to Cologne.

Images of students working on the project.

Last picture together at Anne-Frank School.

AND MÜNSTER IN THE AFTERNOON

Known as the bicycle capital of Germany, Münster is considered the cultural centre of the Westphalia region. It was here where the Treaty of Westphalia ending the Thirty Years' War was signed in 1648.

Sustainability and cultural heritage meet together in this wonderful city.

A wonderful experience teachers and students will remember forever.
