What a great week of learning in classes and outdoors. Our little friends have been trying their best to improve their learning across all areas. Great to hear about how they are challenging themselves and supporting each other. We've always different projects or initiatives going on. Play skills are being developed in our upper phase building toward a plan for next year where our older pupils will teach games to our younger pupils. Through our learning across school, pupils are having fantastic experiences listening to people who work in our local area and the skills they need. We also had another podcast episode go live with an athlete! Looking forward to Mrs Williams and Miss Mountford possibly in our next episode... We're looking forward to a busy final term ahead with much planned for our next learning focus too! Watch this space. Mwynhau'r penwythnos!
This week in Dosbarth Alwen we have been working on our jumping skills in PE (long jump, high jumping over cones, balancing and hopping🤸) We've continued reading the lion inside creating a whole class story map, hot seating and imagining we're the lion expressing a range of emotions throughout🦁 we had so much fun making musical instruments in Udeskole & enjoyed a visit from Chelsea the hairdresser✂️ We have decided how our class would like the spend their funds from last terms Easter cake sale...keep your eyes peeled👀
This week in Dosbarth Padarn we have been learning about different temperatures in our maths. We were blindfolded and had to guess if we felt something warm or cold. We then put ice into warm water to see what would happen. In our language we have continued to write out our speeches which we will be recording next week.
We have also learnt our emergency contact details and made our own contact cards. We had to work out where we lived and learnt part of our addresses. Next week will be Miss Robertson’s last week with us. We would like to thank her for all her hard work in our class and wish her the best of luck with the rest of her teacher training 🥳😊.
Dosbarth Tegid have been busy working on their literacy skills through acrostic friendship poems and discussing the qualities for a good friend, considering what we can do in return. In maths we have continued our work on multiplication using different strategies. Next week we will introduce a new strategy to calculate more times tables! Any work you do at home do send in to us or post on dojo and there will be reward points! Through our big question we have continued learning about roles in our community and how they support us, particularly our local area and wider.
Dosbarth Brenig have been refining their persuasive writing skills after writing to Lynne Neagle, farmers and...we had a problem. We were offered an amazing price for our class chairs - the children felt they still needed them so they wrote very powerful letters to persuade the adults not to sell! In maths we have been reviewing our money skills ahead of our financial plans for the next few weeks! We have also been calculating costing to run our school farm. Fab maths skills!
This week Dosbarth Gwynant have been busy delving more in to our topic on community and have started to consider what our community can offer to us! We worked hard to make sketch maps of our local area, labelling key places and delving in to what opportunities these places offer us. Some of us even tackled a mega challenge and considered if there are equal opportunities for all, talking about accessibility and other factors. So many amazing perspectives were shared!🤩 We have finished our work off on fractions and have continued to show great perseverance and problem-solving skills! On Thursday, we also enjoyed a sensory walk around our school grounds to gather ideas ready to write haikus about our school next week. We can't wait to share some with you🙌🏻

Great to see our Ferry Farmers again this week. We got to work making sure our plants are growing! Classes are competing to see who can grow or sell the most by next month...
This week we exercised our sustainable skills and used shorn wool from Farmer Cheryl's sheep around our potatoes. The wool will compost down while also giving nutrients to our plants.
