omar girona Portfolio

designer, artist, and Team player

Over the course of my career, I have bridged gaps across multiple industries, showcasing a wide range of skills—from 3D modeling, design, and fabrication to supervising and producing large-scale deliverables. I specialize in meeting strict client demands while navigating fast-paced, ever-changing work environments. With over a decade of experience, I’ve built a track record of adapting quickly and consistently delivering results that leave clients and customers satisfied.

I got my first big break midway through my design career when I had the opportunity to work with a company in New Orleans, Louisiana. During that time, I created drawings for the fabrication team that brought clients’ visions to life. From Star Wars and The Walt Disney Company to Formula 1, The National WWII Museum, and more, I contributed to both permanent installations and temporary exhibits and environments. This experience not only paved the way for me as a designer but also revealed my potential as a business owner and collaborator in large-scale teams delivering unforgettable projects.

Some snapshots of that time. There is a lot I cannot show due to NDA and client privacy.

Moving into pottery

In 2020, I discovered a skill set I didn’t realize I had and turned it into a full-time career, launching my first successful business. That experience taught me the ins and outs of managing a team through production and revealed just how many hands it takes to bring a final product to life. It was a turning point that not only shaped my career but also changed my life.

Through my business, Oakwash, I gained hands-on experience in Mold-Making & Casting and further developed my skill set in fabrication. I also learned the business side of creative production from hiring and managing a team, handling payroll, scaling production under tight deadlines, and ensuring proper invoicing and client communication. On the technical side, I developed expertise in kiln firing, operating spray booths, safely shipping thousands of ceramic wares worldwide, and designing efficient workshop environments focused on safety, quality control, and workflow.

Above all, I discovered that customers value the story behind the product as much as the product itself. By keeping communication open and adapting to ever-changing social media platforms, I was able to grow Oakwash into a rapidly scaling business with a strong and loyal community.

About me

Outside of my career, I’m a proud father to two amazing kids. I strive to show them that hard work can pay off at the highest level and that navigating life’s challenges is a skill worth mastering. They are, without question, my greatest accomplishments.
