Introduction to Digital Photography – TAFE Statement
My name is Tim Levy and I'm excited to share over 30 years of photography industry knowledge with you. Currently I teach Cert 4 Photography at TAFE, am the Editor of Capture Magazine and run a commercial freelance photography business.
Photography is everywhere - virtually every book, magazine, website, wall, library, billboard, phone & computer are adorned with images. And the photographic industry is not just photographers. It is digital operators, professional retouchers, publishing, art galleries, fine art printing, studio & camera rental, schools, camera equipment manufacturing & repairs, retail sales, production houses, photography agents, advertising and many more.
And then there are different genres & fields of photography that may pique your interest: portrait, event, fashion, still life & product, copy work, architectural, music, nature, landscape, macro, sport, wedding, documentary, food and others.
I have been fortunate to have worked with many industry branches and shot all different photography genres. I would love to share this knowledge as well as inspire you to join the industry, and find a passion to create great images.
