A note from Mr Higginbottom

Hello! An important update for those of you needing childcare after school....I'm pleased to say that we are making progress towards holding an after school childcare facility in addition to our morning breakfast club. We are currently undertaking interviews to recruit a wraparound club manager and staff to run our clubs. This will mean that our wraparound care is provided by staff employed by our school, and the club will be available on every school day from September 2024.

Breakfast Club will continue to be offered from 7:40-8:40. This will cost £3 per session from September 2024. Our after school club provision will give you two options, with the aim to give you the best value possible. The first option is for an hour's childcare after school, costing £4. So, it will cost £4 to have children in school until 4:15. The second option is to extend this to 5PM, for an additional £3. So, after school childcare until 5PM will cost a total of £7. For clarity, if you use breakfast and after school club until 5PM, this will cost £10 per day. We believe that this represents exceptional value, especially given the costs of staffing. Our aim is to help you to work beyond school hours and also to maximise children's attendance at school. Places will be limited, but we will look to recruit enough staff to meet demand. Based on responses to our survey about this, we expect to be able to meet that expected demand at our September start.

We will let you know as soon as the wraparound places become available for booking and work with you to establish a system that works for as many as possible. We hope that you will feel that this is a helpful addition to our school's offer for families. Places will be subsidised for families in receipt of free school meals. Please talk to us if you're not sure whether this applies to you, and we will help you.

Well done to our year 6 pupils who have tackled their end of key stage 2 SATS this week. We appreciate the hard work that they have all put in, and the support that everyone has given them. We're proud of their achievements and what great people they are!

I'd be really grateful if everyone could be aware that they should not use the school car park, please - and never allow your children to walk through the main car park gates. We want to do all that we can to keep everyone safe. To try to help some families with specific issues, we have given permission to park in the car park, but I'm sure that you can understand the need to keep this limited. Please help us with this. Thank you.
