Meet up with 4-H families from across the region to pick apples, hand-press apple cider, eat apple pie, enjoy farm festival entertainment, participate in a guided nature walk, and more in the foothills of the San Bernardino Mountains.
The meet up will begin with everyone joining together at the northern apple orchards at Los Rios Rancho located on The Wildlands Conservancy's Oak Glen Preserve near Yucaipa, California, in San Bernardino County. 4-H families/clubs/groups can pick fresh apples, enjoy farm festival activities, get lost in the corn maze, and purchase fresh baked goods and artisan crafts. The group will be treated to a guided nature hike through the preserve's Southern California Montane Botanic Garden and Children's Outdoor Discovery Center. The hike will be led by John Trammell, long-time 4-H volunteer and Project Manager at The Wildlands Conservancy's Executive Headquarters Office located on the preserve.
Pack a lunch or buy food at Los Rios Rancho. We will have a designated spot for the 4-H group to enjoy lunch together either on the preserve trail system or the lawn of The Wildlands Conservancy's HQ Office south of Oak Glen Road. Participants will be responsible for all costs associated with the apple farm experiences. No entry fee is required for the hiking trails.
