Meet the owners

Ralf Santiago

Owner and Head Coach

Coach Ralf began boxing at 9 years old in Bronx, NY, where he lived much of his life. He was a troubled kid but his father was determined to put him on a brighter path. So, he brought him to Morris Park Boxing Club, where he met his first coach, Andy. He continued to grow in the love of the sport and competed in the N.Y. Golden Gloves as an adult. Shortly after meeting his wife, Rose, he acquired his first boxing student. He trained him in public parks and “big box” gyms he was a member of at the time. Soon after, he met his next coach, Shidoshi Nathan Ingram of Deadly Art of Survival. Ralf learned a great deal from Shidoshi Ingram and began a small boxing team together. This team fanned a desire to start a gym of their own which came to be in 2011 in Uptown Manhattan with two other partners. After moving to Cleveland and closing the business in NYC, he thought he’d never be a boxing coach again. Well, God has a sense of humor. In 2015, just a year after moving to Cleveland, he began training his first student and continued to acquire students to his surprise. The name Five Point Boxing was established is 2016 just after moving to a downtown location in Cleveland.

Rose Santiago

Owner and Beginner’s Boxing Coach

Coach Rose grew up watching boxing with her family at a very young age. Unfortunately, boxing was not a female embracing sport until the days of Layla Ali. Personal fitness and leisurely sports were more her physical wellness preferences before meeting Ralf. When Ralf started a boxing gym in 2011, just after having their first son, she began learning the craft. Over the years, she has taken formal boxing coach classes, cutman classes, and boxing officials’ classes. She has obtained an Official’s Certification, Cutman’s Certification, Green, Bronze, and more recently a Silver Level Coach’s Certification through USA Boxing. She began coaching in 2020 but has continued to further her boxing and fitness education all the while learning through her wonderful husband everyday.
