A Journey Through Rodeos and Skijoring
This series is a quiet homage to the people and places of the American West—where effort is currency, and character is forged in silence, not the spotlight. I was drawn to these stories not to reinterpret them, but to recognize them. While new voices are rightly celebrated, it’s just as vital to honor those who have long been here—those who have lived simply, worked the land, and shaped this region with calloused hands and steady hearts. These images are my way of saying: I see you.
I was not born into this land, but I walk it with care. As someone shaped by Eastern roots and now grounded in the American West, I often find myself straddling two worlds—vegetarian yet drawn to ranch life, unfamiliar with guns yet compelled by the stories behind the holster.
What I bring is not judgment, but curiosity. Not critique, but reverence.
I seek to capture a spirit of place that is fading—but not forgotten—and to remind us that honoring tradition doesn’t mean resisting progress. It simply means remembering what got us here.
In the rugged West, cowgirls and cowboys become stewards of a timeless legacy, seen in rodeos, ranches, and skijoring races. This series tells a story of toil in weathered hands, cherished ranching traditions, and silent connections with horses under open skies.
The pulse of the rodeo and the ranch's tranquil rhythm reflect a commitment to the land's spirit. Beyond style, Western culture lives in the beat of hooves, the wind through sagebrush, and the silent poetry between rider and horse.
This series is a journey through time, portraying the West as a living character. It celebrates resilience, camaraderie, and enduring bonds between people and their four-legged companions—a legacy proudly carried forward, echoing the wild spirit that resonates with my Eastern roots.
