Principal's Message
It is with gratitude that I introduce myself as Acting Principal. I've been touched by the genuinely warm welcome extended to me by the dedicated staff, wonderful students, Father Byrnes, and families within the Holy Spirit community. I'm truly looking forward to working with you all as long as I am needed.
In the Gospel on Sunday, Jesus asks his disciples, ‘Who do people say the Son of Man is? and then directly asks, ‘Who do you say I am?’ This important Bible passage reminds us as parents and teachers, that our role is to help our children discover and understand who Jesus is, guiding them in their personal journey of faith. Just as Peter recognised Jesus as the Messiah, we can encourage our students to build their own strong foundations of faith, making Jesus the rock upon which their lives are built.
Thank you for your support of the school disco last Thursday. It was a wonderful event, filled with so much joy and energy. A huge thank you to the special staff of Holy Spirit, especially Blake Furness who led the organisation of this event. The hard work and combined effort of all staff made it a memorable night for our students. Of course, thank you to all students who attended to make this event such a vibrant success.
To finish the term, staff will spend this Friday working together on curriculum development. This important time will ensure our educational programs remain dynamic, engaging, and aligned with the evolving needs of our students. This collective effort contributes to a richer learning experience for everyone. We appreciate your understanding and support for pupil-free days such as this, as we recognise they can present childcare challenges. Your flexibility allows us to invest in our staff, which ultimately enhances the educational journey for every student.
As we approach the upcoming holidays, I want to wish all our families a restful and recharging break. I hope you have the opportunity to create cherished memories and return refreshed for next term. Hopefully you and your children are able to enjoy some sleep-ins and stay safe if you are traveling.
God Bless,
Megan Masterson
Religious Education
The Catholic Church is celebrating a Jubilee Year of Hope in 2025, with the theme "Pilgrims of Hope". This special year, traditionally held every 25 years, focuses on spiritual renewal, pilgrimage, and reconciliation. The late Pope Francis called for this Jubilee to help restore hope in a world facing challenges like war, the pandemic, and climate change.
The Month of July
The month of July is dedicated to the Most Precious Blood of Jesus. It is a recognition of Jesus’ sacrifice and how He spilled his blood for the salvation of humanity. Furthermore, this blood is made present through the gift of the Eucharist, along with the body of Christ, under the appearance of bread and wine.

Deanery Athletics Carnival
On Monday, 23rd June, a group of enthusiastic Holy Spirit students represented our school at the Deanery Athletics Carnival. They competed with great determination, sportsmanship, and school spirit across a range of track and field events. We are incredibly proud of their efforts and the way they supported each other throughout the day.
A special mention must go out to Evalyn T (4 Green), who received Junior Girl Champion for the day, and Zachary Q (4 Green), who received Junior Boy Champion for the day. Well done, Evalyn and Zachary.
We would also like to wish those students who have successfully been selected to attend the next level at the Diocesan Athletics Carnival next term all the best of luck.
