ADMINISTRATOR'S MESSAGE
Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year. We have started this year by welcoming many new families to our community. We have surpassed five hundred and forty students at H.E.Beriault which will make our school a vibrant learning environment rooted in faith and promoting kindness. Our division theme this year is an important message in Catholic Education reminding us that as Catholics, we are a people of Hope! Romans 12:12 reminds us that the Holy spirit will give us hope, and that it is our faith that matters. We rejoice in hope, we’re patient in suffering, and we persevere in prayer.
Together, as a faith-based community, we will take turns speaking and hearing the word of the Lord together each day as we embrace the beautiful ministry our creator has called us to. Our staff is committed to fostering a wonderful, safe, Catholic learning environment for all students. We will infuse Catholicity in all that we do here at H.E. Beriault. Our opening celebration for our students will take place in our gymnasium in September.
H.E. Beriault Junior High is known as a place of welcome. It is a school committed to offering Music, Drama, French, Com Tech, Art, Construction, Foods, Leadership and Fitness aiming to provide a balanced education for all students. H.E.B. is proud of the strong athletic programs and school teams which is evident with the banners that we proudly display in the main gymnasium.
Our staff is dedicated to developing future leaders, independent thinkers, and hard working students. H.E. Beriault students are caring young Catholics who are committed to service, social justice, and leadership within the school community. HEB has a Braided Journeys Program which connects students to Indigenous culture and social teachings. Our cultural liaison is Dawn Lameman. Dawn is an integral part of our school as she will connect with students by giving students hands on activities and field trips rooted in Indigenous culture. The goal of our Braided Journeys Program is to build relationships, give students a safe space to connect, learn, and gain confidence. Dawn will offer smudge/prayer each morning in her room located across from the office in our main corridor. I am looking forward to participating and connecting with our students and staff in the Braided Journeys room this year as Dawn leads the way.
School Messenger is a key communication tool that we use for our community which comes to you via Email. Parents are also encouraged to check our school website for monthly newsletters and other information pertaining to upcoming events and activities. PowerSchool is the tool used for students and parents to access student grades and attendance records.
As a staff, we look forward to meeting our parent community for our annual Meet the Staff BBQ on Thursday, September 18, 2025. The evening is designed to give the parents an opportunity to meet the staff, learn more about our school and allow families to have any questions answered that you may have about life at H.E.Beriault. The BBQ will start at 6:30 p.m. which will be located at the basketball courts just east of the school. The formal welcome and staff introductions will take place in the school gymnasium at 7:00 pm.

A Prayer for the New School Year
Lord Jesus, we ask for Your help as we begin this new school year. Allow us to experience Your presence in the many blessings You put before us. Open our eyes to the new challenges and exciting opportunities that this new school year brings. Open our hearts and minds to new friends and new teachers.
Amen
Student Safety-Pick-up & Drop-off
With close to 600 students, the front of the school is a very busy place at drop off and dismissal! We have 4 yellow buses as well as the three ETS School Special busses that need to pull into the curb to pick students up. For the safety of all students, we ask parents to follow pick-up and drop-off guidelines and respect the marked signage in the area.
- Please do not stop to pick-up students within the orange marked pylons in front of the school. This area is for the busses.
- Please avoid picking student up directly in front of the school, or parking on the West side of 167 St. With the busses parked, visibility is poor, and it is not safe for students to dart out to cross the street.
- At no time should students be dropped off or picked up in the Staff parking lot.
- The designated area to park to pick-up/drop-off students is on the East side of 167 St, starting right after the driveway.
Thank you for working with us to keep our students safe!

"Orange Shirt Day"
"Orange Shirt Day" (National Day for Truth and Reconciliation) will be commemorated at school on Friday, Sept 26. This day acknowledges that residential schools are a part of our collective history. Wearing an orange shirt is a national movement to recognize the experience of those who went to Indian residential schools, to honour them, and show a collective commitment to ensure that Every Child Matters.
We will have a Celebration, hosting Indigenous drummers and participate in a smudge. Students are encouraged to wear an orange shirt to acknowledge this painful piece of history and stand united for change as we move forward on our path to Reconciliation.
There will be no school on Tuesday, Sept 30 for National Truth and Reconciliation Day
