Project Description

1,200 foot-long lakewalk that will stretch along restored shoreline of Lake Minnetonka from the Depot docks to the Broadway docks.

Project Updates
February 2024
  • June - Complete handrails and open Lakewalk to public.
  • March-May: Working on handrails, welding piling, and installing docks.
  • February-March 2024: Boat Docks by the Depot sections are being delivered and installation will start early March and continue through May. Hand Railing will start to be installed the first part of March. Wood decking on the Lakewalk will be installed late March.
  • January - Precast is going in this month. Should be wrapped up by middle of January. Followed by demobilization of barges and cranes. Railing and decking system will start late January to early February.
  • December - Drive piling has been completed.
  • November – Anticipate drive piling to be completed. Welding of I beams continues.
  • October- Drive piling and welding continued along the route. Check out the time-lapse and drone footage below.
  • Week of September 25th - will start demolition of existing dock on the east end, by the COV restaurant. Demolition is anticipated to take a few weeks.
  • Week of September 11th - 22nd - Driving batter pile on section D. Utilizing both cranes on site has helped move progress along to 50% completion of batter piling. Section E is next which continues progress to the east. Welding of I beams on top of batter pile will start the week of Sept 18th.
  • Week of August 28-September 8th - Second Barge will be in full operation. One barge will be welding and the other barge will be driving piling.
  • Week of August 21st - Pulled first set of templates and driving the second set of pilling. Welding templates into position. Along with driving second set of permanent batter pile. Currently taking delivery of the second barge, putting it together and loading crane onto this second Barge. By Thursday the second Barge will be on the job site.
  • Week of July 31 - August 18th - Driving permanent batter pilling in process.
  • Week of July 24th - Driving permanent batter piling will start.
  • Week of July 10th - 21st - Template drive piling on the water will commence.
  • Week of July 3-7th - Mobilization occurs on site.

Displayed in the image above include Construction Staging | Temporary Fencing | West Construction Boundary Late June through March 2024 | East Construction Zone through July 2023 | East Construction Zone through Mid-September 2023 | East Construction Zone through October 2023 | East Construction Zone through March 2024 | Combination of floating silt curtains and buoys placed along perimeter of working area to protect construction zone. These will move with the construction from West to East. | Project staging and material deliveries will take place at NHT Enterprises. Barge deliveries will be daily to and from location.
