FOIL & FLOCK Quick guide

Knowing your Materials and Equipment

It is important to understand what is needed for your session and have everything to hand. You will need: Fabric, Screen, Squeegee, Spoon, Textile Glue (Texiflock), Heat Press (heated to 160 degrees for foil or 200 degrees for flock
Step 1 Secure your fabrics to the printing table and place your screen on top.
Step 2 Spread a line of glue across the top of your screen design that is laid on top of the fabric.
Step 3 Hold the squeegee at a 45 degree angle and pull towards you whilst applying firm pressure to screen print your sample. You may need several squeegee pulls to get good coverage.
Step 4 Wash your screen and equipment immediately.
Step 5 Leave your sample to dry naturally.

Printing Foil - Heat Press at 160 degrees C for 40 seconds

Step 1 Place your fabric glue side up on the heat press bed on top of the Teflon Sheet.
Step 2 Place your foil, shiny side facing up, on top of the fabric.
Step 3 Add the second Teflon Sheet on top and close the heat press.
Step 4 Leave for 40 seconds at 160 degrees.
Step 5 Allow to cool and then peel off the foil.

Printing Flock - Heat Press at 200 degrees C for 45 seconds

Step 1 Place your fabric glue side up on the heat press bed on top of the Teflon Sheet.
Step 2 Place your flock, flock side down, on top of the fabric.
Step 3 Add the second Teflon Sheet on top and close the heat press.
Step 4 Leave for 45 seconds at 200 degrees.
Step 5 Allow to cool and then peel off.
