Over the years my family & friends have been telling me how beautiful Papi Hills are, it was always on my bucket list for a while. At last in Jan 2010, I've got opportunity to tour this place along with Maredumilli forest area. Boy the hype was real and I was completely blown away by the sheer beauty of the place.
The tour kicked off at beautiful shore near Pattiseema, the entire trip duration was around 3 - 4 hrs where you'll be taken upstream in river Godavari. Overall the trip was very scenic with some mesmerizing views of Papi hills as the rivers curves past the mountains. The day we toured was raining which added to the mood, luckily for us it wasn't raining heavily but slight drizzle for one to really enjoy the weather. During the entire trip they've some activities and loud music playing which I didn't like as I'd like to gaze at the nature quietly and enjoying the moments.
Our stop was at a place called Perentala Palli where there is a small temple to visit, I've decided against it as it was coming down heavily by the time we reached there. To my surprise lot of folks braved getting wet and made it to temple and back.
Thankfully the return journey was quieter as folks have got bit tired visiting the temple and for me this was the best time of the trip as the atmosphere was quite so that you can peacefully enjoy the surroundings.
I was really surprised by the amount of boats doing these trips and almost all of them are packed! Given the surreal beauty of this place no wonder there is such interest among everyone to do this trip.
As all good things come to an end, so does our remarkable trip. Overall I've thoroughly enjoyed the trip and I've felt I should've done an overnight trip instead of day trip. I'm sure staying in the wilds of Papi hills is an unique experience and I'm all for it when I'm going to tour this place next!
