Wild Birds By Chloe Fogden

backstory

ever since I was little I have liked animals I love to be surrounded by them when I was around 7 years old I would chase birds and chickens around my grandmas house, I would also beg my grandpa to let me ride his horse. When I grow up I want to be a veterinarian like that I can help wild animals specially birds.

About

My passion project is about spreading awareness about wild birds and informing people about the struggles wild birds have.

Struggles

1. The biggest struggle wild birds have to deal with is habitat loss. So many humans cut down trees and they don’t realize that birds live on those trees.

2. windows from houses because they can see a reflection on the window with is theirs but the bird doesn’t know it’s their own reflections so they think it is another bird in their territory.

3. predators like humans that for some reason like to shoot the birds just for the fun of it.

4. any type of human interference whether it is hunting the bird as i said before, capturing it, and feeding them.

5. pollution like contaminated water resources that are near the birds home and the air that birds breathe which is obviously the same as the one we breathe from, sometimes the air can come with smoke from the factories which create toxics.

6. Climate change effects with their food supply because of changes in the temperature of the weather also effect the birds with migration and nesting becuase depending on the climate and temperature the nest can either be too cold or hot and extreme winds can knock off the nest.

how can we help

  1. once we chop down a tree we can plant another one to replace the one we cut down.

2. minimize the use of plastic. Use reusable bottle, put the plastic in a bin were you can put recyclable plastic.

3. Don’t hunt the birds especially if that bird specie is in danger of extinction.

4. put stickers in your windows like that the birds don't see their reflection.

5. clean trash that you see in the rivers

my favorite bird specie is a Hummingbird because of their vibrant feather colors, they are tiny birds which make them cute and i like to see them grab pollen from the flowers
