A change of pace
As summer ends and we ease into fall, my senses are alive taking in a new colour palette and fresh pattern inspiration. Even thought we work on a different season in pattern creation. I soak up the sunny, cool days, the changing textures of the garden, the first frost and our desire to be home in the darker evenings.
I turn to creating and planning for family gatherings. Every year I love to select or create a new theme and colour palette for the holidays. I am leaning towards hunter green, antique gold and cream accents.
Of course I visit favourite stores for research, and I can see the changing seasons evident in all the goodies on display we enjoy.

Dawn Michelle is a Fashion and Textile designer that started creating patterns again after a her carear as a teacher and florist left her craving more creativity and a need to get back to drawing.
After a life changing surgery and 2 years of recovery, it was time to embrace life fully. "Living through a pandemic with a serious illness makes you appreciate everything and everyone you have in your life."
I wanted no regrets and to fulfill some of my bucket list items. I started taking photos again and found joy in colour, texture and patterns. Hence the desire to learn new skills, make new contacts and create.
