This Weeks Sectional Schedule
Students may schedule a time to meet 1 on 1 with a band director for solo or audition help. Beginners may also use morning and afternoon practice time in the band hall to pass-off their scales or music lines. The band hall is open daily from 7:15am – 4:30pm.
The Contest Season is Upon Us!!!!!
Contest Season is ramping up!! Updated itineraries are finalized for the next week of contests! Times listed are scheduled times when each band performs.
We are looking for a 4 or 5 parent chaperones each from SW, CBI, and CBII to assist during the NTFD Performance/trip. We should have enough room for you to ride on the charter bus if you would like. Please email Mr. Neugent cjneugent@prosper-isd.net with your students name to reserve your spot.

Rogers Band Solo Contest Results
183 students performed at our solo contest this week with 50 students receiving a 1+ “Outstanding Soloist” rating, 127 students receiving a 1st division “Superior” rating and 5 students receiving a 2nd division “Excellent” rating! All of the judges were very impressed and had wonderful comments. We are so proud of all of the hard work put in on this individual musical activity.
22 students competed for only one of three spots to represent Rogers in the Prosper ISD Concerto Competition. Please help us congratulate the following students who will perform at the concerto finals:
- Kasey Dailey - Piccolo
- Destiny Pham - Clarinet
- Camden Burgess - Euphonium
The Concerto competition will take place on Saturday April 27th in the Walnut Grove High School Auditorium beginning at 9:00am. Please mark your calendars and come out to cheer on our incredible Rogers students.
Percussion Concert
A Percussion Ensemble Concert featuring Rogers and Walnut Grove percussion is coming soon! All Rogers Percussionists need to be at the dress rehearsal and concert as each student has their own individual part. Any missing parts will greatly impact the success of the ensemble. Make sure to arrange for them to attend both dates below. These students have been hard at work preparing their Ensembles, so come support them and listen to some awesome music!
Dress Rehearsal: May 2nd , Walnut Grove Auditorium
- 5:00pm - 6:00pm Beginners/CB1/CB2
- 5:00pm - 7:30pm, Symphonic Winds
Concert: May 3rd: 6:30pm

Beginner 4th 9-weeks Project
All of our beginners are starting to work on their BIG 4th 9-weeks pass-off project. They are working to pass-off major scales and also lines out of the book. With each scale passed off, they will receive a different colored bead to display how far they are getting. We will also keep track with a sticker/pass-off chart and on the back of their practice record. This a great project that students can move at their own pace.

8th graders…
High School Auditions are coming up the first week of May. If you have any questions about what to expect, let us know.

- Audition packets will be passed out the week of April 22nd.
6th and 7th graders …..
Auditions will take place the last 2 weeks of school during your band classes. Auditions are an important part of learning to play an instrument and all students will get to experience this process.

Prosper ISD Band Camp
We are VERY excited to announce the Third Annual PISD Middle School Band Camp. The camp is for students who will be in 7th or 8th grade for the 2024-2025 School year (current 6th/7th graders).
This is an amazing time to reach across the entire district to learn music, make some new friends and have a ton of fun! (and if nothing else, get your kids out of the house for a few hours) There will be a 7th grade camp in the morning and an 8th grade camp in the afternoon. Friday, we will present a concert and a take a trip for the all campers. Camp Week - June 3rd - 7th 2024
