Dear Families,
Somehow September has come and gone in the blink of an eye and we are already moving into our second month of school. The past few weeks have been a journey of discovery, growth and bonding for our students, and I wanted to take a moment to share my excitement and gratitude with all of you.
I have been so proud of our students as I have watched them embrace challenges with open hearts and eager minds with a thirst for learning that is truly inspiring. The dedication and support you have provided your children during this time has not gone unnoticed. Your daily involvement and encouragement make a significant impact on their success and happiness at school.
A huge shout out to our PTO for leading a successful FUN RUN fundraiser and endless thank yous to the entire Barnard community for supporting our school with their generous donations. This weekend we reached our school goal of $25,000.00. We will definitely be celebrating this accomplishment with a school wide assembly in which the kids are super excited to surprise me with some fun. While we hit our school goal, there is still one week left for competitions for the highest donations. Class with the highest donation wins a ZOYO PARTY! All students that raised $200 or more will be invited to a pancake breakfast with Mrs. Bush! Top fundraiser in each class gets to play a special part in the school wide assembly, that I hear involves... SLIME! So don't stop yet, one week to go to earn a top spot for some extra fun.
One very important day this week is COUNT DAY on Wednesday, October 4th across our state. Troy will use this day to officially count the students in attendance throughout the district, aiding in proper funding from our local, state and federal revenue sources. TSD, like schools throughout the state, is funded on a per-pupil basis. In order for your child to be counted on Oct. 4, please follow the steps below: Ensure your child attends school on Count Day as scheduled. If your child is absent for any reason, call the absence in immediately, giving the reason for the absence and expected date of return. Please obtain a doctor’s note/documentation and submit it within 24 hours of your child's absence, when applicable.
I look forward to the coming weeks filled with exciting activities, engaging learning, and countless opportunities for growth that October is sure to bring! Want to stay connected throughout the week and see pictures of your children in action here at school, please follow me on Instagram @MrsBushTSD.
Have a wonderful weekend with your families!
Warmly,
Mrs. Bush
